The selection of a painting by the Dean of Digital Arts and Design to participate in artistic events for Cop27

An art painting by Prof. Ashraf Zaki, The Dean of the Faculty of Digital Arts and Design at Egypt University of Informatics (EUI), is selected to participate in the International Exhibition of Plastic Arts held on the Summit's agenda from 6 until 18 November 2022 in Sharm El-Sheikh City.

Prof. Reem Bahgat, President of EUI, congratulated Prof. Zaki for his active technical participation in the second International Art Forum held at the Climate Summit Cop27. It includes ambitious and environmentally friendly works of art in line with the Summit's objectives and addressing climate change.

Prof. Zaki explained that the work he participates in at the International Art Fair and Forum at the Climate Summit is one of the works based on recycling and environmentally friendly materials. The idea of the painting reveals the land's relationship with seas and rivers.

Zaki said: "The painting expresses the damage of climate changes through pharaoh boats traveling instinctively in water, adding that lands may disappear in many countries of the world when the ice melts in the North or South Pole due to the increasing causes that contribute to climate change."

The Dean of the Faculty of Digital Arts and Design noted that the artwork participating in the exhibition relies on using unused cardboard paper to reflect this significant event, held in Egypt for the first time in history. He also stressed that in its second edition, the Forum hosts the participation of many galleries, organizations, artists, and development experts from around the world to link plastic art to the issue of climate change, as well as to encourage all sustainable artworks such as Recycling Art, Ecological Environmental Arts, Earth Art, and Environmental Design.

EUI will participate in the COP 27 Climate Summit with a high-level faculty delegation comprising Prof. Reem Bahgat, President of the University, and Dr. Amani Eissa, Head of Business Development and President of the Climathon 2022 organizing committee,  organized by the university last month.
