Who we are

One of the first specialized universities in Communications and Information Technology

Overview

At the heart of Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, established Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) with the goal of becoming a leading institution specialized in the fields of Communications and Information Technology (ICT) and related areas across the Middle East and Africa.

Egypt University of Informatics is a non-profit university aiming to build a specialized community in information and communications technology, empowering youth to acquire the digital skills necessary to meet the demands of local, regional, and international labor markets. This university is a key part of the Ministry of Communications’ initiatives to build an integrated information society and to enhance the growth of the IT sector within the New Administrative Capital. Recognizing the university’s potential to graduate outstanding professionals in this field, the former President, Counselor Adly Mansour, graciously accepted the position of Chair of the University Board of Trustees, which includes a distinguished group of prominent figures from academia, the IT and media sectors, and the public sphere.

The university comprises four faculties: the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Informatics Management Sciences, and the Faculty of Arts and Digital Design. It offers multidisciplinary technological programs aimed at keeping pace with modern technologies, business requirements, and practical applications.

The university has attracted a distinguished faculty with extensive international experience in teaching and scientific research in specialized fields. The administrative framework follows the highest standards, while the academic curricula in areas such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, data engineering, and other modern specialties have been carefully designed by Egyptian and international experts. These curricula are prepared to align with global standards, comply with local quality and accreditation requirements, and are delivered through dual-degree agreements with leading universities worldwide. Graduates who meet the requirements of the partner universities receive dual certificates from Egypt University of Informatics and the foreign institution.

Under these agreements, admitted students spend their final academic year at one of the partner universities abroad, while the courses during the earlier years are offered in a blended learning system at EUI. Notable partnerships include agreements in electrical and computer engineering with Purdue University in West Lafayette (ranked #6 in engineering according to the US News 2024 ranking), and with the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities (ranked #36 in computer science according to the same ranking), as well as the Telfer School of Management in fields such as finance, business technology management, and marketing, which is ranked among the top 1% of business schools worldwide with triple accreditation: AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS, and the University of Ottawa (ranked #10 among the best Canadian universities in the US News 2024 ranking).
