English Department
English Department
The English language program is designed to fulfill the English language proficiency required for studying at EUI’s different faculties according to the different faculties’ Bylaws, since the language of instruction is English.
EUI uses the computer-based Pearson Versant Placement Test to place students according to their placement test score as follows:
Students with score 20 – 38 are placed in the First English Foundation Course (HUM001) when starting in the Fall Semester.
Students with score 39 – 56 are placed in the Second English Foundation Course (HUM002) when starting in the Fall Semester.
Students with score 57+ would start their first English credit course when starting in the Fall Semester.
The English Department provides an excellent opportunity to students who are weak in English by providing two non-credit courses of General English (HUM001 & HUM002) according to the students’ English language level needs and placement test score (as stated above).
The program is tailored to meet the challenges of the 21st century, and it also trains students to use their critical thinking, evaluation and analysis skills in order to be prepared for the competition of the job market.
