EUI’s President: Digital transformation does not mean human dispensation
Prof. Reem Bahgat, President of Egypt University of Informatics, emphasized that digital transformation does not mean the dispensation of human beings and labour as perceived by some, but requires training and qualification on the emerging new jobs and focusing on the concept itself and taking a deep look, we will find that it is transformation rather than a dispensation.
This came during the main session of this year’s Cairo International Book Fair held in Plaza1 Hall under the theme “Meet Prof. Reem Bahgat” and moderated by the prominent media figure Mustafa Al-Menshawi, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Bahy El-Din El-Assasi, Chairman of the General Egyptian Book Authority, and some officials from the authority and the Ministry of Culture and public visitors.

It is the way to prepare a generation capable of excellence and leading the future.
The President of Egypt University of Informatics also explained during her session: “A great influence in my working life is my family’s care and their concern to acquire culture, science and patriotism, which is one of the important roles of the family, so I emphasize the importance of the parents supporting these frameworks in their children, as they contribute to making the difference for their future.”
“During my master’s and PhD studies abroad, I realized that we can excel and succeed like the West, and many Egyptian role models have been able to excel and shine abroad.” Contrary to the perception of some, and when asked about her success story, Prof. Reem explained that during her scientific and practical career here in Egypt, while being a successful woman, she has not experienced any distinction between men and women in employment throughout her life, Egyptian and academic society is remarkably open and receptive to women’s participation and presence as colleagues as well as in leadership positions.
The President of Egypt University of Informatics explained that the university’s professor is not looking for money. However, (s)he seeks to live a decent life for himself/herself and his/her family and to ensure a distinct research environment. The State, represented by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Scientific Research Funds, have been rececently paying attention to Egyptian minds abroad and the return of Egyptian ex-pats and supporting them in providing a suitable environment for scientific research because of the belief in the importance of them and their ability to contribute in building the future.
Concerning Egypt University of Informatics, Prof. Reem Bahgat said: “All disciplines at the university are based on the needs of the current and future labour market, ensuring that our students are enrolled in jobs suited to the science and training they received once they graduate. We are also very interested in the creativity and innovation of students, which the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Founder of the University, fully support.”
Prof. Reem Bahgat proceeded: “At Egypt University of Informatics, we offer world-class specialized academic education and programs through our study of all the curricula of major international universities. We then derived our curricula in a sophisticated and prestigious manner, partnering with the world’s most prestigious top-ranked universities.”

After the end of the session, Dr. Ahmed Bahy El-din El-Assasi, Chairman of the General Egyptian Book Organization, thanked Prof. Reem Bahgat, saying, “We are concerned with the content that the book carries, not just the book itself. This session is an annual activity in that we are keen to make the public aware of the successful leadership role models who have created a significant impact through their professional careers, so the seminar of Prof. Reem Bahgat, President of Egypt University of Informatics, will be in the archives and memory of Egypt.”
