EUI meets with "Meta" to discuss ways of academic collaboration and enhancing the digital future
Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) received an esteemed delegation from "Meta," at its premises in the Knowledge City at the new administrative capital, out of its continuous efforts to develop scientific and research relations with major international institutions. The social media giant aims to strengthen cooperation with governments and universities specializing in data science and technology and to exchange experiences and research programs that enhance mutual benefit for both sides.
The meeting was headed by Prof. Reem Bahgat, President of the Egyptian University of Informatics, in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Al Sharkawi, Vice-President of the University for Academic Affairs, Mr. Yasser Kazem, Secretary-General, Faculties' Deans, and Dr. Amal El Gammal, Head of International Relations.
The delegation from "Meta," headed by Ms. Shaden Khallaf, Head of Public Policy, North Africa and the Gulf Cooperation Council, along with Mr. Abdel Rahman Al-Sobki, Global Risk Operations Manager, MENA region, accompanied by representatives from Moharram & Partners Consultancy for Public Affairs and Strategic Communications, represented by Mr. Mustafa Mohammed, Vice-President for Governmental Affairs, Mr. Sherif Bendari, Vice-President for Public Policy, and Ms. Abir Mahmoud, Public Policy Analyst, had a campus tour, to get more knowledge about what EUI offers from facilities and latest equipment. The attendees also were informed of the institutions and research centers in the Knowledge City of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, using state-of-the-art technology.
EUI's Faculty staff members presented their different areas of academic research that could be consistent with Meta's interests in dealing with Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Communications, and Virtual Reality. They also showed interest in what Meta could offer in terms of specialized training to reach the Metaverse the world aims.
