EUI Hosts Ugandan Delegation for AI and Digital Transformation Visit
Egypt University for Informatics (EUI) was honored to host a high-level delegation from the Republic of Uganda for a benchmarking visit focused on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation, reflecting the growing interest in Egypt's experience in building digital capabilities and preparing future talent.
The delegation was led by H.E. Ms. Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo, Minister of State for Information, Communications and Technology. It included senior representatives from the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, the National Information Technology Authority of Uganda (NITA-U), the National Planning Authority, and the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development. The composition of the delegation highlighted Uganda's coordinated, cross-sector approach to advancing its national digital agenda.
During the visit, the delegation learned more about EUI's journey as a role model in preparing students for the sciences of the future in the digital transformation age. The discussions covered EUI's academic vision, its focus on advanced and emerging technologies, and its approach to equipping graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving digital economy.
Both sides exchanged experiences and shared best practices on the role of higher education in driving digital transformation and supporting national development goals. They also explored ways to strengthen cooperation between Egypt and Uganda in the fields of AI and digital transformation, including opportunities for knowledge exchange, capacity building, and future partnerships.
The visit underscored the importance of collaboration among African countries in building digital skills, fostering innovation, and ensuring that the continent's young people are ready to lead in the technologies shaping the future.
