Agreement of Cooperation between EUI and Microsoft to sponsor scholarships for the top achievers
H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between Egypt University of Informatics and Microsoft on the provision of several full and partial scholarships provided by Microsoft for the top achieving students at EUI throughout their academic years of study, including the
expenses of one year study abroad program at the international partner universities.
The agreement was signed by Prof. Reem Bahgat, President of Egypt University of Informatics, and Eng. Mirna Arif, Country General Manager of Microsoft, in the presence of many leaders of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Egypt University of Informatics, and Microsoft.
On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to establish effective and fruitful partnerships with leading international ICT companies within the framework of the Ministry’s digital capacity-building strategy aimed at developing digital competencies capable of supporting digital transformation, implementing Egypt’s digital projects, developing the ICT industry in Egypt, and competing in local and international labor markets.
His Excellency Dr. Amr Talaat highlighted the efforts of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to provide all the necessary possibilities to support the educational process of EUI and enhance its ability to refine the skills of students to prepare generations of professional graduates in the modern fields of Communication and Information Technology in line with international technological developments, by providing them with the latest technology in training during the academic years of study. The agreement complements the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Microsoft International.
Prof. Reem Bahgat, President of Egypt University of Informatics, said: “This vital agreement comes within the framework of supporting the university’s top achievers. by providing them with the necessary scholarships to study at the university and bearing the cost of studying the final year at the headquarters of our agreed-with universities abroad”. She noted that
acquiring scientific skills related to the digital process has become crucial to ensure a practical and influential presence in the future. The full scholarships offered by Microsoft will benefit 11 students from top thanaweya amma achievers, as well as partial scholarships for a large number of students to study at the university. She clarified, “With regards to the scholarships at our partner universities abroad, Microsoft will cover costs for the one-year study abroad program for seven students.”
Eng. Mirna Arif, Country General Manager of Microsoft, confirmed that this collaboration is part of Microsoft’s commitment to transfer knowledge and provide skills opportunities for the Egyptian youth. Microsoft believes in building young people’s skills and enhancing their abilities in the competitive labor market.
She also clarified, “The digital transformation system will be able to achieve a successful and integrated digital strategy, only with a base of young people and skilled cadres capable of employing technology as necessary.”
Eng. Mirna expressed her gratitude for this partnership, saying, “Through this partnership, we affirm Microsoft’s commitment to promoting continuous learning among young people and providing them with equal access to the best opportunities for ICT-based education in Egypt. We look forward to these scholarships playing an influential role within an integrated system
to develop human resources, accelerate Egypt’s digital transformation journey, and achieve Egypt’s digital vision.”
Dr. Amani Eissa, Head of Business Development at EUI, explained that this agreement shapes the collaboration between Egypt University of Informatics and Microsoft, promoting many opportunities for cooperation in information technology and digital skills development. It also contributes to increasing opportunities for innovation. EUI’s vision is to strengthen partnerships with the world’s technology leaders, such as Microsoft. This agreement is essential to strengthen EUI’s academic mission.
