21 EUIans Shine in Digital Innovation Internship at Attijariwafa Bank Egypt
In a significant step towards fostering young tech talent, 21 students from Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) have successfully completed an on-the-job internship program at Attijariwafa Bank Egypt. This initiative is part of the bank’s strategy to engage with future tech professionals, exposing them to real-world challenges while leveraging their fresh perspectives to drive innovation.
The internship provided students with hands-on experience in critical fields such as Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Digital Banking, Marketing, Information Security, and Strategy. Working on cutting-edge projects, the students played an active role in:
Software Engineering & Application Design—Contributing to the development of advanced banking applications.
Cybersecurity & GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) – Assisting in the revamp of the bank’s website and internet banking platforms, managing vendor communications, and testing security environments.
Data Science & Predictive Analytics – Building a predictive model to retain credit card users before they turn inactive.
Digital Transformation & Strategy – Supporting the digital roadmap and designing innovative lead-generation strategies.
The students followed a hybrid work model, spending two days in the office as full-time employees and working three days remotely. This flexible structure allowed them to gain practical insights into corporate environments while maintaining a balance between academic commitments and professional exposure.
This internship marks the first phase of a long-term collaboration between Attijariwafa Bank Egypt and EUI, aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry. By integrating university students into the workplace early, the program helps build a pipeline of top tech talent, ensuring they are well-prepared for the rapidly evolving digital economy.
With the success of this first phase, Attijariwafa Bank Egypt and Egypt University of Informatics are already working on the next phase, further expanding opportunities for students to contribute to and shape the future of digital banking and fintech in Egypt.
