Prof. Youssri Hassan Among Stanford's Top 2% Scientists for the Third Time
Stanford University has announced that Dr. Youssri Hassan Youssri, a professor at the Faculty of Engineering at Egypt University of Informatics (EUI), has been ranked among the top scientists in the world for the third consecutive year, with an improvement in his ranking.
Stanford University released a list of the top 2% of the world's most academically cited scientists across various disciplines for 2024. This is a global achievement that adds to the accomplishments of Egypt University of Informatics. The list includes over 160,000 researchers from more than 8 million active academics worldwide, covering 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields.
EUI’s University council congratulated Dr. Youssri, a professor at the Faculty of Engineering, for being ranked among the top 2% of the world's scientists for the third consecutive year, with an improved ranking. This achievement adds to the growing list of accomplishments the university has achieved since its inception. It also demonstrates EUI's leadership and excellence in scientific research, showcasing the university’s outstanding academic and creative scholars in their fields.
The council praised Dr. Yousry's scientific achievement, highlighting that having a researcher from EUI listed in Stanford's ranking for the third year in a row confirms his continuous contribution to advancing his areas of expertise through his published work. The inclusion of scientists and academics from EUI in Stanford’s list is highly significant, as it reflects the university’s commitment to research and global collaboration, driven by the excellence of its research environment and scholars.

Prof. Bahgat added that Dr. Youssri’s inclusion among the top 2% of the world's scientists is a great honor for Egypt and a testament to the human capital at EUI. Prof. El-Masry explained that this ranking is based on a database developed by Stanford University, which identifies the top 2% of scientists worldwide across various fields. The ranking is determined by the number of published research papers from the start of an academic’s career to the present year, the total and field-specific citation counts, the number of citations from reference materials and peer-reviewed publications, and the number of internationally reviewed papers and books. Additionally, the ranking includes a scientific impact index and measures research collaboration.
