Omar Wafa Completes Prestigious Cybersecurity Bootcamp at NTI

This summer, Omar Wafa, one of EUI's computing and information sciences students, had the remarkable opportunity to participate in the Cybersecurity Bootcamp at the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI). The intensive program was conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), and the Egyptian Computer Emergency Readiness Team (EG-CERT). The bootcamp was proudly sponsored by CyberX World and BARQ Systems.
This experience offered in-depth exposure to the world of cybersecurity, covering both theoretical knowledge and practical application. Key topics included social engineering, which focused on how attackers exploit human behavior; Wi-Fi vulnerabilities, which emphasized the risks associated with unsecured networks; and common attack techniques used by cybercriminals. Participants also learned about effective preventive measures to proactively defend against emerging threats.
In addition to theoretical insights, the bootcamp provided hands-on training in identifying and mitigating cybersecurity risks. Through simulations and practical exercises, students gained a stronger understanding of how to secure digital identities and protect information in an increasingly connected world.
This bootcamp marked a significant step in building future-ready talent equipped to take on the challenges of the cybersecurity landscape. We are proud of our students’ dedication to staying ahead in the field of digital security and look forward to more success stories in the future.
