H.E.Dr. Amr Talaat attends the graduation of the first batch of "Automotive Embedded Software Development" within EME presidential initiative
His Excellency Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stressed that young trained cadres are one of the most critical competitive advantages Egypt enjoys in the electronics industry and one of the most attractive components of multinational companies to establish centers in Egypt to export services in the field of embedded software, electronic design, and other high-value fields.
This was stated on the occasion of Dr. Amr Talaat's presence during the graduation ceremony of the first batch of capacity-building "Automotive Embedded Software Development" program within the framework of the presidential initiative "Egypt Makes Electronics," which was offered by Egypt University of Informatics (EUI), at the university's campus in the Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital.
In his statement, Dr. Amr Talaat explained that the electronics industry requires huge investments and scientific and skilled capabilities. He referred to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology's interest in qualifying young people for the labor market in this industry as part of the presidential initiative "Egypt Makes Electronics" by qualifying them with a matrix of technical and personal skills to enhance their competitiveness in regional and international labor markets, He added that there is interest in focusing on the development of specialized skills in embedded software in the self-driving cars technology, as it witnesses increasing interest and demand in the global labor market.
His excellency also noted that the Imhotep Center has been established in the Knowledge City in the New Administrative capital, which hosts specialized companies in electronic design and embedded programs. The establishment of the center near the university aims to achieve the interaction between the academic community of professors, students, EUI graduates, and multinational operating companies in Egypt in this field, which contributes to enabling young people to combine scientific and practical expertise.
During the ceremony, Dr. Amr Talaat delivered the certificates to a group of graduates of the "Automotive Embedded Software Development" capacity-building program.
Prof. Reem Bahgat, President of Egypt University of Informatics, expressed her pleasure at the university's inclusion of a capacity-building program in the field of embedded software development within the framework of the presidential initiative "Egypt Makes Electronics" and the graduation of the program's first batch, which is fully funded by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology for young graduates from 2019 to 2023 from all universities across Egypt, for graduates of the Faculties of Engineering with specializations in Communications, Electronics, Computer Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering), and graduates from the faculties of Computing and Information Science and the Faculty of Science, with a specialization in Computer Science.
Prof. Bahgat explained that the university had harnessed all its potential to refine the skills of participants in this vital training program over three months at its campus in the Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital, which has attractive and competitive technological and economic advantages and provides ease of access to training and business opportunities for investors and corporates, where it has the best ICT infrastructure, strategic location, and advanced technological capabilities.
She also noted that the university focuses on the implementation of Egypt's 2030 Sustainable Development Strategy and Vision by intensifying efforts to keep pace with the future and building a robust technological sector capable of benefiting from the competitive advantages of Egypt, reflecting its increased contribution to local output and diversification of the economy to achieve the sustainable development agenda. The initiative has worked to support and empower innovation and entrepreneurship.
Moreover, Prof. Iman Ashour, Training and Learning Consultant at Egypt University of Informatics, and the manager of the EME program’s implementation at Egypt University of informatics, said: "EUI welcomed the participating trainees over three months. (5 days per week - 7 hours per day) at its campus in the Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital, which is currently a hub for the electronics industry and the premises of some of the program's industry partners, where 69 graduates received free qualification and training for a job in the design of embedded automotive software, especially that this is one of the most desired areas in the global and domestic market. She drew attention to the participation of 6 major companies involved in the automotive industry.
The graduation ceremony was also attended by Dr. Hossam Osman, Advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology for technology creativity, electronics industry and training, as well as a number of officials of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, deans and academic staff members at Egypt University of Informatics, and representatives of several specialized companies in electronics and automotive industry.
