Faculty of Engineering Connects Students to EDIBON Summer Training in Spain

Prof. Ahmed Hamad, Acting President of Egypt University of Informatics, announced the start of the cooperation protocol signed between the university and "EDIBON International," one of the world's leading industrial companies. A group of fourth-year engineering students is preparing to travel to Spain during the current summer break for training at the Spanish company's factories.

Additionally, an advanced laboratory is being established in collaboration with the Spanish company to serve engineering students. The agreement with the Spanish side includes equipping the Egyptian lab with the latest equipment and software to match the specialized labs of EDIBON, ensuring that students in various disciplines are on par with their counterparts in Spain and other advanced industrial nations. The new lab is expected to enhance the development and execution of student graduation projects, refining their skills and preparing them for immediate employment upon graduation.

The cooperation protocol with the Spanish company includes multiple initiatives aimed at elevating the educational services provided by Egypt University of Informatics. Both parties are committed to continuous improvement in teaching quality through training, research activities, and collaboration in managing and teaching engineering specializations such as physics, electronics, communications, electrical engineering, energy, mechatronics, automation, mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and thermal technologies.

The protocol also focuses on enhancing engineering programs at the university by providing laboratory equipment, software, educational materials, and other resources to improve labs, courses, research and development projects, and engineering activities. Additionally, it includes joint efforts to develop training programs for students in line with the latest technological advancements in the university's technical practices.

Prof. Amr El-Sherif, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Egypt University of Informatics, praised the cooperation protocol with EDIBON International, one of Spain’s largest industrial companies, and the organization of the first practical training for university students at the company’s factories in Spain. He emphasized the importance of this training opportunity, as it opens doors for students to work in the Spanish and European markets.

The mechatronics engineering program, which the students specialize in, combines mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, control engineering, software, and computer science—fields essential for large-scale factories with automated production lines. As a result, graduates of the mechatronics program are in high demand in both Egypt and the global industrial sector.

El-Sherif noted that this summer training in Spain reflects the university’s commitment to providing an outstanding educational experience for its students. A select group of fourth-year mechatronics engineering students will train at EDIBON’s factory, gaining hands-on experience with the latest industrial control and automation technologies used in the European market. This will sharpen their skills and prepare them to meet global labor market demands.

Dr. Nader Abdel Wahab Ahmed Mansour, Director of the Mechatronics Program, stated that graduates of Egypt University of Informatics can specialize in high-demand fields such as process automation for social and industrial applications, Robotic system development and programming, Autonomous systems development, Embedded systems development for automotive applications and Mechatronics engineering

This initiative aligns with the university’s efforts to strengthen international partnerships and provide high-quality training opportunities for its students, in line with its vision to graduate qualified professionals capable of competing on a global scale.
