EUI welcomes a delegation from Malaikah to promote students as Entrepreneurs

Egypt University of Informatics, with its premises in the Knowledge City, at the New Administrative Capital, received a high-level delegation from the Egyptian Angels Investors Association (Malaikah) to promote cooperation in the field of entrepreneurship, encourage and support students to succeed in this sector in the framework of employing academic scientific knowledge and promoting entrepreneurial concepts at the local and global level.

This visit comes within the framework of the EUI’s strategic plan to establish an integrated system for its students in terms of entrepreneurship through qualitative projects and outstanding programs adopted by the university in these required fields, as confirmed by the level shown by the students in innovation and entrepreneurship while presenting their ideas and projects.

The two sides also discussed future opportunities in terms of employment and entrepreneurship and how to communicate with bold investment funds. These discussions were followed by the presentation of projects by a group of students who received a high assessment from Malaikah’s delegation.

For his part, Mr. Yasser Kazem, Secretary General of Egypt University of Informatics, welcomed the delegation during the meeting attended by Prof. Samaa Taher, Dean of the Faculty of Business Informatics, Prof. Amr El-Masry, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Hoda Mokhtar Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences, Dr. Amani Eissa, Head of Business Development at EUI, and Dr. Abdel Moneim El-Sharkawi, President of the National Academy of Information Technology for Persons with Disabilities (NAID), affiliated to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Eng. Amr Abou Alam, Managing Director of the Smart Villages Company.

Mr. Yasser Kazem stressed that the university encourages students to entrepreneurship through the various activities offered to them, which helps to raise a new generation of entrepreneurs and contribute to the further achievement of sustainable economic development in general and economic diversification in particular. EUI is committed to qualifying its students across all faculties as innovative youth cadres in paths suited to the university's strategy and in line with the requirements of the new national agenda in innovation and entrepreneurship by refining their skills and creating a high leadership culture.

Dr. Amani Eissa, Head of Business Development at Egypt University of Informatics, also presented the university's potential, faculties, and academic programs, explaining that university students participated in multiple innovative competitions.

Dr. Amani Eissa confirmed that the university attracts top high school achievers; it works to motivate any student who works to become an entrepreneur and help them transfer their innovations on the ground. The university has established a center for entrepreneurship and innovation, which contributes to supporting entrepreneurship and refining students’ skills in practical aspects, especially as we collaborate with significant enterprises in the technology industry.

Dr. Amani Eissa explained that one of the essential pillars of the entrepreneurship track is the diversity of the experience of the faculty of the university, where great experiences come together from applied sciences in innovation, technology, marketing, and the arts of communication with the market and investors, ensuring that the student acquires practical experience of the life cycle of innovative projects and their development and the most critical factors of success.

Eng. Samir El-Alaily, Chairman of Malaikah, said: "The Association supports the idea of entrepreneurship. We aim to help new entrepreneurs join the investment market and support and nurture investors in the SME sector in the context of driving national investment. The Society cares for investors in the angel investment sector and increases their investment awareness according to what is applied abroad by working to overcome any hindrance to angel investment. 

Egypt University of Informatics is the first specialized university in the Middle East and Africa in Communications, Information Technology, and their affected areas. It was founded by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to become a leading academic institution offering specialized educational programs to meet the need of the labor market with highly expertise ICT professionals.

Egypt University of Informatics has four faculties (Computing and Information Sciences, Engineering, Business Informatics, Digital Arts, and Design). It offers 16 specialized educational programs to meet the labor market’s needs from specialists in the latest fields of ICT, such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Animation Arts, User Experience, and Game Design.
