EUI launches Its First-Ever Student Union

EUI  announced the conduct of its student union elections entirely through electronic voting. The supervisory committee overseeing these student elections declared the results of the 2024/2025 student union formation.

Prof. Reem Bahgat, President of Egypt University of Informatics, affirmed that the elections were conducted using an advanced IT program designed by the university. This system enabled all university students to voice their opinions and elect their representatives in adherence to the voting regulations outlined in Egyptian university bylaws. The process was supervised by a committee that included two student members, ensuring compliance with procedural rules. She emphasized that the voting, counting, and result announcement were executed entirely electronically without any human intervention, mirroring the practices of top European and American universities.

Prof. Bahgat highlighted that the implementation of this electronic voting system reflects the university's belief in the vital role of students as the heart and soul of the institution. Their ideas and contributions make the university a better place for everyone. She stressed that these young individuals are not only the leaders of tomorrow but also the innovators, change-makers, and visionaries who will shape a bright future for the nation.

She further emphasized the importance of students balancing their academic pursuits with engagement in public issues, as such involvement is crucial for developing well-rounded personalities and fostering a cohesive community. Learning extends beyond classrooms to include volunteer work, cultural, sports, artistic activities, and more. Through these experiences, students acquire new skills, enhancing their teamwork capabilities and preparing them to face future challenges.

Prof. Bahgat reiterated the university's core mission of empowering the next generation by equipping them with essential skills, fostering creativity, and providing all possible avenues to enhance their leadership abilities.

Prof. Ahmed Hamad, Vice President of EUI for Academic Affairs noted the significant role the university plays in building generations equipped with modern knowledge, enabling them to transform visions into realities. He added that the university's mission to prepare future leaders in the technology sector is being realized thanks to the distinguished educational services and the dedication of both academic and administrative staff.
