Prof. Reem Bahgat

EUI’s President

Biography

Prof. Reem Bahgat earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Imperial College London in 1991. Since 1993, she has been a Faculty Member at Cairo University. From 2016 to 2020, she served as Director of the Egyptian Bureau for Cultural and Educational Affairs in the UK. Previously, she held positions including Assistant to Cairo University President for Informatics and Information Technology, and Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information. She co-founded and served as Deputy Director of CULTNAT from 2000 to 2012. Since March 2020, she has been an Advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, leading the establishment of Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) and serving as its inaugural President, appointed by the Board of Trustees.
