
Prof. Amr El-Sherif
Acting Dean, Faculty of Engineering
Prof. Amr A. El-Sherif is a distinguished professor of electrical engineering and the acting dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Egypt University of Informatics (EUI). After completing his doctoral studies, Prof. El-Sherif worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Computer Science and Engineering Department at Qatar University for two years before returning to Alexandria University as an assistant professor.
Between September 2015 and September 2021, Prof. El-Sherif served as the ECE program director at Nile University, Egypt, and from 2017 to 2019, he was the director of the Wireless Intelligent Networks Center (WINC). In February 2022, he joined EUI as the head of the Electronics and Communication Department and currently serves as the acting dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Throughout his career, Prof. El-Sherif has played a vital role in both academia and industry, combining research excellence with practical innovation. As a senior member of the IEEE, Prof. El-Sherif has actively contributed to major IEEE conferences' technical program committees. Prof. El-Sherif’s dedication to advancing engineering education and research continues to shape the future of wireless communication technologies.
With more than 70 research papers published in leading journals and conferences, he has made significant contributions to the field of wireless communications. He has also led multiple funded research projects, serving as a principal investigator (PI) or co-PI.
His research interests focus on the design and performance analysis of wireless networks, with an emphasis on cognitive radios and networks, cooperative communications, cross-layer design, MAC protocols, scheduling, and resource allocation, and the application of machine learning in communication networks.

- He also gained industry experience as a senior research engineer at Axxcelera Egypt, where he contributed to developing and implementing scheduling algorithms for LTE base stations.
