EUI signs an agreement with Teradata for training students in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

Prof. Reem Bahgat, President of Egypt University of Informatics (EUI), appreciated the agreement signed with Teradata Egypt to cooperate in the preparation and development of an integrated training curriculum for the university’s students in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, with a focus on practical and industrial experience, as well as enabling university members and students to access the educational platform of Teradata International, which contains many educational sources specialized in the fields of Data Analysis, as well as a large amount of data on the company’s platform.

The President of EUI explained that the agreement would use the 3-year “Teradata Vantage License” program to develop and use students’ skills in their projects and organize competitions among students, as well as the involvement of both sides in the development of a training curriculum for university students in the fields of Artificial intelligence and Data Science, with a focus on practical and industrial experience, lectures will also be held annually for technical personalities in Teradata’s senior management, attended by university members and students.

Prof. Reem Bahgat added that the agreement’s training programs include a range of knowledge and skills relevant to big data and analysis, including; fundamentals of artificial intelligence, the life cycle of data (extraction, conversion, and integration), data standardization, the fundamentals of data representation and perception, data understanding tools and use situations in the industry.

For his part, Richard Betley, Executive Vice President of Teradata, Europe, Middle East, and Africa, expressed the company’s aspiration to be present in Egypt. He commended Egypt’s development in all sectors, including university education, and efforts to create a supportive climate for attracting foreign investment. He also praised the vision of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to build a digital Egypt and its plans for the development of telecommunications infrastructure and data handling.

The Executive Vice President of Teradata confirmed the company’s interest in benefiting from the professionalism of Egyptian youth in the company’s projects in Egypt and cooperation with Egypt University of Informatics, especially in the areas of Technology Management and Business Technology.
