Huge crowd at the Artificial Intelligence and Knowledge Industry Conference

 

Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) concluded the Artificial Intelligence and Knowledge Industry Conference, which discussed five axes in related fields with the participation of local and international experts and academics throughout a full day as part of the activities of the 55th Cairo International Book Fair, to shape the future of publishing and literature in light of the opportunities and challenges facing the knowledge industry with the unprecedented development of artificial intelligence and its applications in many vital sectors in many countries around the world, in cooperation and strategic partnership with the Cairo International Book Fair.

The conference discussed during its sessions five topics represented in (artificial intelligence and its applications in the knowledge industry, natural language technology and its applications in the knowledge industry, the impact of artificial intelligence on jobs in the publishing industry, ethics of artificial intelligence in the knowledge industry, and the future of artificial intelligence in the knowledge industry).

Prof. Reem Bahgat, President of Egypt University of Informatics, emphasized that the conference discussed mechanisms for keeping up with the future and the technologies it has reached, which have become intertwined in all sectors, including the knowledge industry, literature, and culture.

Prof.Bahgat pointed out that the conference focused on enhancing opportunities and benefiting from artificial intelligence in the fields of literature, culture, and knowledge. She also noted that Egypt University of Informatics is working on maximizing the positive aspects of artificial intelligence and harnessing it in certain fields, after it has become intertwined in many different sectors due to the research and development efforts that have been rapidly carried out in the past few years, leading to a qualitative and rapid leap in the uses supported by its capabilities.

Dr. Ahmed Bahi El-Din, Chairman of the Egyptian General Book Authority, affirmed that the world is entering a new and serious stage, explaining that we live in a new republic, so it was imperative for us in the Cairo International Book Fair to engage with the future and keep pace with knowledge and civilization.

Bahi El-Din also expressed his gratitude to Egypt University of Informatics as it is the Egyptian leading hub in the field of communications, information technology, and data science for organizing this important conference.

Dr. Yousry El-Gaml, former Minister of Education, said that this conference discussed a very important topic, which is the knowledge industry and literature in the presence of artificial intelligence and its significant impact on important matters, pointing out that there is a measure for knowledge through the knowledge index, which annually monitors this matter by relying on 7 axes that determine the position of each country among the 137 countries monitored around the world.

It is worth mentioning that Egypt University of Informatics is one of the first specialized universities in the Middle East and Africa in the fields of communications, information technology, and related fields. It was established by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to become a leading academic institution offering specialized educational programs to meet the needs of the labor market for specialists in the latest fields of information technology and communications. Its campus is located in the Knowledge City within the New Administrative Capital.

Egypt University of Informatics includes 4 faculties: Computing and Information Sciences, Engineering, Business Informatics & Digital Arts and Design. It offers 16 specialized educational programs to meet the needs of the labor market for specialists in the latest fields of information technology and communications, such as artificial intelligence and data science, electronics and communications engineering, mechatronics engineering, business analytics, digital marketing and e-commerce, animation arts, user experience, and game design.
