His Eminence Counsellor Adly Mansour

Chairman of the Board of Trustees

Counsellor Adly Mahmoud Mansour is the former President of the Supreme Constitutional Court and former President of the Arab Republic of Egypt. His Eminence was awarded the Great Collar of the Nile for his historical role in managing the transitional phase of modern Egyptian history.

 

Eng. Raafat Abdel Aziz Fahmy Hindy

Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees

Eng. Hindy holds the Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Infrastructure and the Head of the Communications and Infrastructure Sector at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, as well as the Head of the General Secretariat Sector since mid-July 2018.

Eng. Hindy has more than 30 years of experience providing various models of strategic and technical solutions to telecom and infrastructure projects successfully implemented nationally and internationally. He established the communications and infrastructure sector in 2006. He succeeded in implementing more than 100 projects, including the smart village infrastructure project, the Egyptian university network, and the first electronic payment card system in Egypt.

 

His Excellency Prof. Sherif Hammad
Member

Prof. Hammad held the position of the Minister of Scientific Research in 2014. His Excellency received his Ph.D. from the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University in November 1992. He is a computer engineering professor and systems at the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University. Later, Prof. Hammad became the Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs on November 20, 2011. He then won the elections at Ain Shams University for the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for three years.

 

His Excellency Prof. Motaz Khorshid
Member

H.E. Prof. Khorshid held the position of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Egypt in 2011. He held the position of Vice President of Cairo University, then became the Vice President of British University in Egypt. Prof. Korshid is a Professor of Decision Support at the Faculty of Computing and Artificial Intelligence at Cairo University.

 

His Excellency Writer and Journalist Karam Gabr
Member

The Journalist Karam Gaber began his career as a journalist at the Rose-Al-Youssef Foundation and worked there for 30 years. He rose in positions until he became the Chairman of the Foundation's Board of Directors. Gabr previously had the experience of presenting a television program called "Al-Hadath Al-Youm." His articles got published in several newspapers, and he currently writes regularly in Al-Akhbar. Gabr owns several Egyptian and Arabic publications, and his press archive contains numerous articles in Egyptian newspapers. He assumed the position of Chairman of the National Press Authority in April 2017 and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Media in June 2020. He is the only one who headed two of the three media organizations within the context of the 2014 Constitution.

 

Eng. Khaled Lotfi Hassan Mohamed El Attar
Member

Eng. Khaled Al-Attar is the Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Administrative Development, Digital Transformation, and Mechanization. He is the Head of the Information Infrastructure Sector at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Eng. Al-Attar has more than 35 years of experience in the field of informatics. He supervised the implementation of nearly 150 projects in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Bahrain, Germany, and the United States. He has also occupied several leading roles at Raya and IBM for 28 years and worked as a Teaching Assistant at Cairo University.


He is the head of the information infrastructure sector, responsible for supervising the implementation of development and modernization initiatives and projects using information technology to raise the level of mechanized services provided to citizens in partnership with various state agencies and institutions.

 

Excellency Ambassador Ehab Badawi

A decision was issued assigning Excellency Amb. Badawi the duties of the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for the affairs of the Minister's office in October 2020 while he was the ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to France from September 2014. Amb. Badawi served as the Official Spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic before appointing him as Egypt's ambassador to France. He also worked as director of the Cairo Regional Training Center for Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping in Africa.

Amb. Badawi graduated from the University of Maryland in the USA, then worked as a diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1991. He was a member of Egypt's permanent delegation in Geneva. He had previously joined the Egyptian Embassy in France and was the former Egyptian media advisor in Paris.

 

Prof. Reem Bahgat

Professor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, Cairo University. Prof. Bahgat received her MSc and Ph.D. degrees from Imperial College London in 1987 and 1991. She held the Dean of the Faculty from January 2009 to November 2014. She was Assistant to the University for Information Technology Affairs President from December 2014 to May 2016. She held the position of Cultural and Educational Counsellor at the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the United Kingdom from May 12, 2016, to August 9, 2020, in addition to supervising the Egyptian Bureau for Cultural and Educational Affairs in Berlin from August 19, 2019, to August 9, 2020. Prof. Bahgat is currently an advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Egypt Informatics University's affairs and heads the university's founding team.

 

Prof. Hoda ElMaraghy
Member

Prof. Hoda ElMaraghy is the first woman Dean of Engineering in Canada. She recently received one of Canada's highest honors by being inducted into the order of Canada at the Investiture Ceremony at Rideau Hall, the residence& office of H.E Mary Simon, the Governor General of Canada. She is an exceptional role model, mentor, and Distinguished Scholar. Her pioneering and innovative research in flexible manufacturing has positively impacted industrial productivity, competitiveness, and wealth creation in Canada and abroad. Prof. ElMaraghy's contributions to engineering, research, and education are well-recognized.

She is a Distinguished University Professor and founding Director of the Intelligent Manufacturing Systems (IMS) Center at the University of Windsor. She is a member of the Order of Canada (2020) and the Order of Ontario (2015) for her outstanding achievements and contributions to knowledge and industrial advancement. Prof. ElMaraghy is a renowned scholar and research innovator, an inspiring educator, leader, and role model, whose seminal contributions have been recognized nationally and internationally with numerous prestigious awards and accolades. She held Tier I Canada Research Chair in Manufacturing Systems for 14 years. She received an Honorary Doctorate from Chalmers University in Sweden. Her current research includes manufacturing systems paradigms, evolution, and co-evolution / co-development of products and manufacturing systems using principles of natural development. She supervised more than 120 researchers and has more than 550 publications. She delivered numerous keynote papers worldwide and served on several scientific journals' editorial boards.

Prof. ElMaraghy is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC), Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA), International Academy of Production Engineering (CIRP), Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineers (CSME) and Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).

 

Prof. Said Megahed
Member

A Professor of Robotics, Dynamics, and Control in the Department of Mechanical Design and Production Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, since 1995. He obtained a Ph.D. in 1984 in Automation and Robotics from Paul Sabatier University, Toulouse, France.

Prof. Megahed was appointed Vice President for Research, Acting President, and Educational and Academic Affairs at the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) from February 2013 to December 2015. He was appointed Dean of the Institute of Aeronautical Engineering and Technology (IAET) in Egypt from September 2011 through September 2012.
His research interests include robot modeling, simulation and control, system dynamics, and vibration. He has over 100 published papers in these areas.

 

Prof. Khaled Ismail
Member

He is the founder and Chairman of KI Angel, an Egyptian angel investment fund that invests in early-stage 2011 start-ups. Prof. Ismail holds several positions. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Feather Invest, a member of the Leap Ventures Investment Committee, an advisor to the Egyptian American Foundation Fund, and a member of the board of directors of El Sewedy Electric Company (ZPASmart Meters) since 2014 until now.


Prof. Ismail joined as a member of the Presidential Advisory Council for Economic Development (2014-2015). He is the founder of SySDSoft (2003-2011), which Intel acquired in March 2011, and the managing director of Intel Mobile Communications (2011-2014). He also held the position of Senior Advisor to the Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology (2004 and 2007).

 

Dr. Mohamed Hammady
Member

Dr. Hammadi has more than 30 years of experience in communication, information systems, and technology. He is the ex-Chief Technology Officer of Sky Group, Europe's leading media and entertainment company. Dr. Hammadi sets a Group-wide vision, objectives, and operating model for all European Sky territories to form a coherent Group-wide technology strategy. His ex-team oversees all technology systems supporting Sky T.V. services across Europe, broadband, mobile and digital platforms, and critical strategic programs such as cybersecurity.

He also led the Technology Executive Board, which reports to Sky's CEO. He is also a non-executive director of the U.K.'s Standards Authority for Networks and Services Interoperability (NICC). Previously, he held several non-executive positions in French and Egyptian telecom companies. He is an active member of several industry bodies focusing on business and trade.

 

Dr. Almoataz Bellah Ahmed Taha
Director of Technical Secretariat of the Board of Trustees

Dr. Al-Moataz Bellah Taha is the Chief of the Minister's Office at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). He drives, develops, and monitors strategic projects executed through the Ministry and its other affiliates. Dr.Taha also participates in the design and implementation of MCIT's strategy. He also holds the position of the Director of Technical Office at the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).


He has gained extensive experience throughout his career. He held several positions, including the Deputy Director for the Strategic Planning Sector at ITIDA, the Executive Manager for the Socio-Economic Performance, and the Planning and Monitoring Sectors at the Egyptian Cabinet – Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC). He also worked at the Regional Information Technology and Software Engineering Center (RITSEC) and the General Authority for Rehabilitation Projects and Agricultural Development (GARPAD).


Dr.Taha was a board member at Egypt Post and a current board member at Silicon Waha for developing Technology Parks. He contributed to set their strategy.


He earned his Doctorate Degree in Business Administration (DBA), with a specialization in Marketing from Ain Shams University in 2013 and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Arab Academy Graduate School of Business of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in 2009. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Technology Management and Information from the Higher Technological Institute (HTI) and an Information Technology Diploma from the Information Technology Institute (ITI).
