Counsellor Adly Mansour
President of the Board of Trustees

Counsellor Adly Mahmoud Mansour, former President of the Supreme Constitutional Court, and former President of the Arab Republic of Egypt. His Eminence was awarded the Great Collar of the Nile for his historical role in managing the transitional phase of modern Egyptian history.

Eng. Raafat Abdel Aziz Fahmy Hindy
Vice President of the Board of Trustees

Eng. Raafat Hindy holds the position of Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Infrastructure and is also the Head of the Communications and Infrastructure Sector at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, as well as the Head of the General Secretariat Sector since mid-July 2018.
Hindy has more than 30 years of experience in providing various models of strategic and technical solutions to telecom and infrastructure projects that are being successfully implemented both nationally and internationally. Hindy established the communications and infrastructure sector in 2006 and succeeded in implementing more than 100 projects, including the smart village infrastructure project, the Egyptian university network and the first electronic payment card system in Egypt.

Prof. Dr Sherif Hammad

Professor Dr. Sherif Hammad, Minister of Scientific Research in 2014. Prof. Hammad received his Ph.D. from the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University in November 1992. Dr. Sherif Hammad is a Professor specialized in computer engineering and systems at the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University. He then became the Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs on November 20, 2011. Hammad then won the elections at Ain Shams University for the position of Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for three years.

Prof. Dr. Motaz Khorshid

Prof. Dr. Motaz Khorshid, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Egypt in 2011. His Excellency held the position of Vice President of Cairo University, then Vice President of the British University. He is Professor of Decision Support at the Faculty of Computing and Artificial Intelligence at Cairo University.

Writer and Journalist Karam Gabr

Writer Karam Gaber has begun his career as a journalist at the Rosal-Youssef Foundation, and worked there for 30 years. He rose in positions until he became the Chairman of the Foundation's Board of Directors. Karam Gabr previously had the experience of presenting a television program called "Al-Hadath Al-Youm". His articles were published by several newspapers and he writes regularly in Al-Akhbar newspaper. Gabr owns several of his own Egyptian and Arabic publications, and his press archive is filled with numerous articles in Egyptian newspapers. He assumed the position of Chairman of the National Press Authority in April 2017 and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Media in June 2020 and is the only one who headed two of the three media organizations within the context of the 2014 Constitution.

Eng. Khaled Lotfi Hassan Mohamed El Attar

Eng. Khaled Al-Attar holds the position of Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Administrative Development, Digital Transformation and Mechanization, as well as Head of the Information Infrastructure Sector at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Al-Attar has more than 35 years of experience in the field of informatics, where he supervised the implementation of nearly 150 projects in this field, in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Bahrain, Germany and the United States. He has also occupied several leading roles at Raya and IBM for 28 years as well as working as a TA at Cairo University.
Al-Attar is the head of the information infrastructure sector, which is responsible for supervising the implementation of development and modernization initiatives and projects using information technology to raise the level of mechanized services provided to citizens, in partnership with various state agencies and institutions.

Ambassador Ehab Badawi

A decision was issued assigning Ambassador Ehab to assume the duties of the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for the affairs of the Minister’s office in October 2020 while he was the ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to France from September 2014. Ambassador Ehab Badawi served as the Official Spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic prior appointing him as Egypt’s ambassador to France. He also worked as Director of the Cairo Regional Training Center for Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping in Africa.
Badawi graduated from the University of Maryland in the United States of America and worked as a diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1991. He was a member of Egypt's permanent delegation in Geneva. He had previously joined the Egyptian Embassy in France and was also the former Egyptian media advisor in Paris.

Prof. Dr. Amr Amin Adly

Prof. Adly was awarded the BSc and MSc degrees in Electrical Power Engineering from Cairo University in 1984 and 1987, respectively and the PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA in 1992. He worked as a Senior Design Engineer at LDJ Electronics, Michigan, USA during the period 1993-1994 and worked as a Visiting Research Professor at the ECE Dept. of the University of Maryland during the summers of 1996-2000. He worked as a consultant for the UNESCO Regional Office during 1993-1994 and for the European Commission in 2006. In 2006, he established and Directed the R&D Division of the Industrial Modernization Center (IMC) until 2007. He occupied several top administrative posts during the period 2010-2019 including Cairo University Faculty of Engineering Vice Dean of Education and Students Affairs, Cairo University Faculty of Engineering Vice Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) Executive Director, Cairo University Vice President of Graduate Studies and Research, and Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for University Affairs. Prof. Adly was awarded a long list of prizes including State Encouragement Prize, The Shoman Foundation Prize for Arab Scientists, State Excellence Prize, The University of Maryland ECE Dept. Distinguished Alumni Award and State Appreciation Prize. He published more than 135 reviewed scientific paper, holds one US Patent and served as the PI of several international joint research projects. Prof. Adly is currently an editorial board member of several IEEE, Elsevier, and Springer journals. He is a recipient of the Egyptian State First Class Medal of Science and Arts and is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Prof. Dr. Reem Bahgat

Professor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, Cairo University. Dr. Reem Bahgat received her MSc and PhD degrees from Imperial College London in 1987 and 1991. She held the position of Dean of the Faculty from January 2009 to November 2014, and Assistant to the President of the University for Information Technology Affairs from December 2014 to May 2016. She held the position of Cultural and Educational Counsellor at the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the United Kingdom from May 12, 2016 to August 9, 2020 in addition to supervising the Egyptian Bureau for cultural and educational affairs in Berlin from August 19, 2019 to August 9, 2020. Dr. Reem Bahgat is currently an advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Egypt Informatics University affairs and heads the university's founding team.

Prof. Dr. Hoda ElMaraghy

Prof. Dr. Hoda ElMaraghy is the first woman Dean of Engineering in Canada. She is an exceptional role model, mentor, and Distinguished Scholar. Her pioneering and innovative research in Flexible Manufacturing has positively impacted industrial productivity, competitiveness, and wealth creation in Canada and abroad. Professor ElMaraghy’s contributions in engineering, research and education are well-recognized.
Dr. Hoda ElMaraghy is a Distinguished University Professor and founding Director of the Intelligent Manufacturing Systems (IMS) Center at the University of Windsor. She is member of the Order of Canada (2020) and the Order of Ontario (2015) for her outstanding achievements and contributions to knowledge and industrial advancement. Professor ElMaraghy is a renowned scholar and research innovator, an inspiring educator, leader and role model, whose seminal contributions have been recognized nationally and internationally with numerous prestigious awards and accolades. Dr. ElMaraghy held Tier I Canada Research Chair in Manufacturing Systems for 14 years. She received an Honorary Doctorate from Chalmers University in Sweden. Her current research includes manufacturing systems paradigms; evolution and co -evolution / co-development of products and manufacturing systems using principles of natural evolution. She supervised more than 120 researchers and has more than 550 publications. She delivered numerous keynote papers around the world and serves on several scientific journals’ editorial boards.
Dr. ElMaraghy is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC), Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA), International Academy of Production Engineering (CIRP), Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineers (CSME) and Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).

Prof. Dr. Said Megahed

A Professor of Robotics, Dynamics and Control in the Department of Mechanical Design and Production Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University since 1995. He obtained a PhD in 1984 in Automation and Robotics from Paul Sabatier University, Toulouse, France.
Dr. Megahed was appointed as Vice President for Research, Acting President, and Vice President for Educational and Academic Affairs at the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), from February 2013 to December 2015. He was also appointed Dean of the Institute of Aeronautical Engineering and Technology (IAET) in Egypt from September 2011 through September 2012.
Dr. Megahed's research interests include robot modeling, simulation and control, system dynamics, and vibration and has over 100 published papers in these areas.

Mr. Karim Awad

Mr. Karim Awad has been the CEO and Board Member of EFG Hermes since 2013, which is the leading investment bank in the Arab world with business covering eight different markets serving its clients in the region and around the world. Since taking office in 2013, Karim Awad has contributed to restoring the company's profitability by creating a huge chain of investment businesses in the region's markets. Awad also holds the position of Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of EFG Hermes Eva, and a director in both the Nile Investment Company and Frontier Partners for Investment Management. He is also a board member of several companies. Prior to that, Awad held the position of CEO of the Investment Bank. Mr. Karim Awad won a seat among the most powerful CEOs of 2021 on the Forbes global list.

Prof. Dr. Khaled Ismail

He is the founder and Chairman of KI Angel, an Egyptian angel investment fund that invests in early stage 2011 start-ups. Dr. Khaled holds several positions. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Feather Invest, a member of the Leap Ventures Investment Committee, an advisor to the Egyptian American Foundation Fund, and a member on the board of directors of El Sewedy Electric Company (ZPASmart Meters) since 2014 until now.
Dr. Khaled joined as a member of the Presidential Advisory Council for Economic Development (2014-2015). He is the founder of SySDSoft (2003-2011), which was acquired by Intel in March 2011, and the managing director of Intel Mobile Communications (2011-2014). He also held the position of Senior Advisor to the Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology (2004 and 2007).

Dr. Mohamed Hammady

Dr. Mohamed Hammadi has more than 30 years of experience in the field of communication, information systems and technology. He is Chief Technology Officer of Sky Group, Europe's leading media and entertainment company. Dr. Mohamed sets a Group-wide vision, objectives, and operating model for all European Sky territories in order to form a coherent Group-wide technology strategy. His team oversees all technology systems that support Sky TV services across Europe, broadband, mobile and digital platforms as well as key strategic programs such as cybersecurity. Dr. Mohamed also leads the Technology Executive Board, which reports to Sky's CEO. Dr. Mohammed is also a non-executive director of the UK's Standards Authority for Networks and Services Interoperability (NICC). He has also previously held a number of non-executive positions in French and Egyptian telecom companies and is an active member of a number of industry bodies focusing on business and trade.

Dr. Almoataz Bellah Ahmed Taha
Director of Technical Secretariat of the Board of Trustees

Al-Moataz Bellah Taha is the Chief of the Minister’s Office at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) where he is responsible for driving, developing and monitoring strategic projects that are executed through the Ministry and its other affiliates, as well as participating in design and implementation of MCIT’s strategy. He also holds the position of the Director of Technical Office at the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).
Taha has gained extensive experience throughout his career. He held a number of positions including the Deputy Director for the Strategic Planning Sector at ITIDA, the Executive Manager for the Socio-Economic Performance and the Planning and Monitoring Sectors at the Egyptian Cabinet – Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC). He also worked at the Regional Information Technology and Software Engineering Center (RITSEC) and the General Authority for Rehabilitation Projects and Agricultural Development (GARPAD).
Taha was a board member at Egypt Post and a current board member at Silicon Waha for developing Technology Parks, where he contributed in setting their strategy.
Taha has earned his Doctorate Degree in Business Administration (DBA), with a specialization in Marketing from Ain Shams University in 2013, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Arab Academy Graduate School of Business of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in 2009. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Technology Management and Information from the Higher Technological Institute (HTI), and an Information Technology Diploma from the Information Technology Institute (ITI).
