EUI Welcomes President of University of Sharjah to Strengthen Relations and Academic Cooperation

 

Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) welcomed Prof. Hamid Magoul Al Naiemy, President of the University of Sharjah, and his accompanying delegation at EUI’s campus in the Knowledge City, located in the New Administrative Capital. The visit aimed to strengthen relations, explore avenues for mutual cooperation, and acquaint the delegation with the university and its academic and practical expertise in the fields of information technology and communications, data science, business technology, digital arts, and design.

Prof. Reem Bahgat, EUI’s President along with the faculties’ deans, welcomed Prof. Hamid Magoul Al Naiemy, Prof. Essam El-Din Agamy, Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness  and Accreditation, Dr. Salah Taher Al Haj, Vice President for Community Affairs, and Ms. Iman Al-Hosni, Technical Attaché at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Cairo.

During the meeting, both sides discussed all aspects that contribute to enhancing scientific and academic cooperation, exchanging mutual expertise between the two universities, and ways to support and develop scientific research in the fields of information technology, communications, data science, business technology, digital arts, and design.

Prof. Bahgat highlighted the importance of the visit in contributing to broadening cooperation prospects between the two universities on all levels, noting that the University of Sharjah is one of the significant universities in the UAE, with strong ties in various fields with Egypt.

She also reviewed the strategic directions of Egypt University of Informatics, aiming to empower the digital transformation ecosystem with highly qualified young cadres equipped with top scientific and practical standards that develop skills in line with future demands. Additionally, she outlined the advanced academic programs offered by the university to its students, preparing them with modern sciences in their specializations to lead the future.

Prof. Bahgat emphasized that since its establishment, Egypt University of Informatics has focused on quality and excellence, creating a developed technical infrastructure for management and education. The university has attracted a teaching and administrative staff with outstanding expertise and diverse global cultures.

The University of Sharjah delegation expressed their happiness visiting EUI, as it is one of the first specialized universities in the Middle East and Africa in the fields of communications and information technology and their related fields, aligning with the policy and vision of their own university.

Prof. Hamid Magoul Al Naiemy praised the scientific and civilizational renaissance observed during his visit to Egypt University of Informatics, along with the advanced campus and academic and scientific programs. He expressed hope for cooperation with Egypt University of Informatics in academic and research fields and the exchange of academic delegations.

The University of Sharjah delegation also conducted An EUI campus tour, accompanied by Mr. Yasser Kazem, EUI’s Secretary-General, Prof. Hoda Mokhtar, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences, Prof. Amr Al Masry, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Samaa Taher, Dean of the Faculty of Business Informatics, and Prof. Ashraf Zaki, Dean of the Faculty of Digital Arts and Design.

It is noteworthy that Egypt University of Informatics is one of the first specialized universities in the Middle East and Africa in the fields of communications and information technology and their related fields. Established by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, it aims to become a leading academic institution offering specialized educational programs to meet the labor market's needs for specialists in the latest fields of information technology and communications. The university is located in the Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital.

Egypt University of Informatics comprises four faculties: Computing and Information Sciences, Engineering, Business Informatics, and Digital Arts and Design. It offers 16 specialized educational programs to meet the labor market's needs for specialists in the latest fields of information technology and communications, such as artificial intelligence, data science and engineering, electronics and communications engineering, mechatronics engineering, business analytics, digital marketing, animation arts, user experience, and game design.
