Egypt University of Informatics Hosts an Entrepreneurship Summit

Egypt University of Informatics held an Entrepreneurship Summit, with the participation of industry leaders, specialized experts, and teams from students of all Egyptian universities, to discuss new strategies, investment opportunities, how to fund startups, and study the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The summit witnessed the participation of a select group from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), who presented their ideas and opinions on the topics discussed, at EUI’s campus in the Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital.

The opening session was held in the presence of Prof. Reem Bahgat, President of Egypt University of Informatics, and was moderated by Dr. Amani Hassan, Head of Business Development at EUI. They discussed the importance of investment by entrepreneurs in the current global economic climate, and how founders of startups can seize promising investment opportunities that have become borderless.

The main panel discussion at the Entrepreneurship Summit, titled “From Vision to Reality: Navigating the Entrepreneurial Journey” was moderated by Dr. Ahmed Abdelhameed, Senior Investment Advisor and Visiting Professor at Egypt University for Informatics. It featured the participation of Dr. Heba El Ashry, Deputy Director of AASTMT Entrepreneurship Center, Mrs. Wessam Sarhan, Co-founder and CEO of Encora, and Mr. Shadi Badr, Founder of Amwal. They covered various topics, including their visions for supporting entrepreneurship to enhance competitiveness and sustainability for companies, how startups can contribute to economic growth and job creation, as well as making significant contributions to addressing challenges, financial support, capacity building, and market access.

 

The Entrepreneurship Summit included several specialized lectures and seminars, among which the seminar "Balancing Technology and Managerial Skills for Entrepreneurs" stood out, moderated by Dr. Wael El Desouky, Head of AASTMT Entrepreneurship Center. Another lecture on "How to Finance Your Startup" was delivered by Dr. Maged Ghoneima, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, and board member of Youth Entrepreneurial Network (YEN). Additionally, there was a third lecture on the mindset of startups by Prof. Ayman El Nahass, Head of the Entrepreneurship Development Department at AASTMT Entrepreneurship Center.

During the events, which witnessed a good attendance from industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and university students, Dr. Amani Hassan, Head of the Business Development at EUI, announced the victory of two teams from Egypt University for Informatics in the qualifiers for the Entrepreneurship Rally finals.

It is worth mentioning that Egypt University of Informatics is one of the leading specialized universities in the Middle East and Africa in the fields of communications, information technology, and related areas. It was established by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to become a pioneering academic institution offering specialized educational programs to meet the needs of the labor market for professionals in the latest fields of information technology and communications. Its campus is located in the Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital.

Egypt University of Informatics comprises four faculties: Computing and Information Sciences, Engineering, Business Informatics, and Digital Arts and Design. It offers 16 specialized educational programs to meet the needs of the labor market for professionals in the latest fields of information technology and communications, such as Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Mechatronics, Business Analytics and Digital Marketing, and Animation Arts, User Experience, and Game Design.
