Biography


Prof. Hoda M. O. Mokhtar received the B.Sc. degree (Distinction with Honors) in 1997 and the M.Sc. degree in 2000 from the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), in 2005.
Dr. Hoda Mokhtar is a Professor of Data Engineering in the Information Systems Dept. at the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence. She had been the Chair of the Information Systems Department at the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence since 2019.
She contributed to teaching multiple courses for the undergraduate and graduate levels and supervised a number of MSc and Ph.D. theses. Her research interests include big data analytics, data warehousing, data mining, database systems, social network analysis, bioinformatics, and location-based systems. She also received multiple awards and certificates for her academic achievements.

Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), in 2005.

Masters of Science in Computer Science from the Computer Science Dept. at University of California Santa Barbara, USA.

M.Sc. degree in 2000 from the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo.

Bachelor at Cairo University, (Distinction with Honors) in 1997
