H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, welcomed at his office in the Smart Village Mohamed Elgendy, a student at the Faculty of Business Informatics at Egypt University of Informatics (EUI), a member of the National team for the modern pentathlon for adults. Dr. Talaat congratulated the Egyptian champion on scoring the silver medal in the Modern Pentathlon World Championship, recently hosted by Egypt.

Dr. Talaat praised the strength and persistence that Elgendy showed during the championship and his insistence on placing the name of Egypt among the top achieving countries in this world championship. Dr. Talaat also stressed the continued support of the state and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology for the Egyptian champions in scoring high ranks in different championships and raising the name of Egypt high in all international scenes.

Dr. Talaat added that the presence of those emerging and distinguished talents at EUI fills us with pride and happiness. He expressed his aspiration to achieve more achievements and discover more skills among EUI students in all fields, just like Elgendy. It will eventually contribute to the continuation of the series of successes at all regional and international levels. It is also compatible with Egypt's vision to achieve progress and leadership globally in all fields and sectors.

Dr. Talaat added, during the honoring ceremony: "I hope that all EUI students would consider athletics and academic excellence a permanent motive and approach they follow. He stressed the state's keenness to invest in its human wealth and encourage athletic and academic achievements.

Dr. Reem Bahgat, President of Egypt University of Informatics, expressed her great happiness by honoring Dr. Amr Talaat to Elgendy. The permanent support the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology provided to EUI made it unique in its specializations as the first university specializing in data sciences and technology across the MENA region. EUI was established by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Dr. Samaa Taher, Dean of the Faculty of Business Informatics, highlighted that EUI reschedules exams for athletic students enrolled in championships, which coincides with their studies and exams. The university provides them with the curriculum and lectures they could not attend. Moreover, EUI's Board of Trustees agrees to give outstanding students athletic scholarships to appreciate their excellence in raising the name of Egypt in all international scenes. She also expressed happiness that Elgendy is an exemplary image for the university and a role model to be followed in awareness, success, and insistence on achieving his dream.

During the ceremony, The champion, Elgendy, thanked Dr.Talaat for his honoring event and his continuous support, represented by EUI, which gives excellent attention to the achievements and progress of the students.

EUI was established by The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to be the first specialized university in the MENA region in the fields and affected areas of Communications and Information Technology, providing unique educational programs to meet the labor market need for specialists in those areas.
