Egypt University of Informatics Receives 20 Arab and African Countries’ Diplomatic Delegations to Enhance Educational Cooperation

The Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) received high-level delegations from the diplomatic missions of Zambia, Namibia, Mauritius, Sierra Leone, Malawi, Senegal, Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon and Nigeria, as well as UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Djibouti, Somalia, Oman, Palestine, Kuwait, Morocco and Mauritania. The visit came in light of discussing ways to enhance the educational and academic cooperation with the University and the scientific benefit from the up-to-date technological capabilities owned by EUI. Discussions included an overview of the educational programs offered at EUI to keep in pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the tremendous technological progress that the world is witnessing to meet the market needs of specialists in the latest fields of information and communication technology such as: artificial intelligence and data engineering, the fourth industrial revolution, the electronics industry, communication sciences, mechatronics and robotics, financial technology, digital-marketing, animation arts, user experience and e-games design. EUI is the first university in the region specialized in the fields of communications and information technology and the areas strongly affected by it.

The meeting was conducted in the presence of the President of EUI Dr. Reem Bahgat, Dr. Mohamed El-Sharkawi Vice President of the University, Dr. Amal El-Gamal Head of International Relations, and the Deans of the University’s faculties. The event was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology from the Departments of International Relations and Public Relations.

The meeting began with a recorded speech from Dr. Amr Talaat, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, welcoming the guests and introducing the role of EUI to graduate high-quality calibres for the local and global market in the fields related to the Ministry. 

The members of the diplomatic missions expressed their great happiness with this visit and their admiration for the faculties, laboratories and research centres, in addition to the scientific resources and capabilities that Egypt University of Informatics provides to its students, which is in line with the tremendous development that Egypt has witnessed during the past 7 years in all sectors. 

Dr. Reem Bahgat, President of Egypt University of Informatics, assured the delegations participating in the meeting that the university will provide all kinds of support necessary for students from Arab and African countries wishing to join it. Dr. Reem added that she is looking forward to cooperating with researchers from Egypt’s sister countries as an initiative to enhance the scientific cooperation between the university and the people of the African continent and the Arab countries in a way that contributes to the development and progress of the region and the achievement of the desired development.

The first day of the two days visit was attended by a delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia headed by Ambassador Tubli Lubaya, Ambassador of the State of Namibia Major General Philo Hivindaka, , from the Republic of Mauritius a delegation headed by Ambassador Datakaran Gobordon, from the Republic of Sierra Leone a delegation headed by Ambassador Sadiq Sylla, from the State of Malawi Ambassador Catherine Konji and her accompanying delegation, Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal Ambassador Abubakar Sarr, a delegation from the Republic of Ghana headed by Deputy Ambassador Lydia Omrati, Ambassador Roy Dzila of Kenya, and representatives from the embassies of Cameroon and Nigeria.

On the Arab delegations’ level, the visit was attended by Sheikh Dr. Ammar Al-Mualla, the Cultural Attaché from the United Arab Emirates in Egypt, the Saudi Cultural Attaché in Egypt Dr. Ahmed Al-Farij, the Jordanian Cultural Advisor in Egypt Mr. Fawzi Abu Fares, the Cultural Advisor to the Republic of Djibouti in Egypt Mrs. Khadija Idris, Somali Cultural Attaché in Egypt Mr. Ibrahim Omar, First Secretary of the Oman Embassy in Egypt Sultan Al-Hasani, Academic and Research Affairs Officer at the Embassy of Palestine in Egypt Dr. Iyad Abu Al-Hunud, Kuwaiti Cultural Attaché in Egypt Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Rajaan, Economic Counselor at the Moroccan Embassy in Egypt Mr. Tarek Badawi and the scientist Chargé d'Affairs of the Mauritanian Embassy in Egypt Professor Abdel-Baqi.

The meeting was also attended, remotely through the online platforms, by Dr. Amr Omran, the Egyptian Cultural Attaché in Saudi Arabia, and Dr. Imad Hashish, the Egyptian Cultural Attaché in Kuwait.
