Entrepreurship & Innovation Center
The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center is the university's dedicated platform for turning ideas, research, and talent into real technological and economic impact. It brings together a set of integrated initiatives — business incubators and accelerators, research-to-product commercialization, technology innovation competitions, and partnerships with industry and higher education institutions — all working toward a shared goal: building a thriving culture of innovation and entrepreneurship on campus.
The Center supports student and faculty entrepreneurs from the earliest stages of an idea through to launch, helps convert scientific research into marketable products, and creates opportunities for students to compete, collaborate, and connect with industry and academic partners locally and internationally. Through these efforts, the Center aims to position the university as a genuine engine of innovation, both regionally and beyond.

- Nurturing new ventures through business incubators and accelerators that provide funding, mentorship, and hands-on training to student and faculty entrepreneurs.
- Bridging research and market by supporting the development of prototypes from scientific research outputs and guiding them toward commercialization.
- Cultivating an innovation culture through hackathons, technology competitions, and campus-wide engagement programs.
- Building strategic partnerships with industry, government, and international academic institutions to expand funding, mentorship, and market access for university-based innovation.

Our Success Stories
GEN AI for Africa
The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center's leadership played a central role in securing €2 million in funding from the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HADEA) for a research project under the GenAI for Africa initiative — part of the Horizon Europe program.
Dr. Amani Essa, CEO of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center at Egypt University of Informatics, served as Project Manager for the university's research proposal, leading its submission within an international consortium coordinated by Sapienza University of Rome and comprising 13 partners from 9 countries across Europe and Africa.
This achievement — won against strong competition from 243 proposals submitted by universities, research institutions, and companies from over 40 countries — marks the university's formal entry into the Horizon Europe funding ecosystem as a funded research partner, and reflects directly on the Center's growing role not only in supporting local entrepreneurship and incubation, but also in driving internationally funded, AI-focused research collaboration between Europe and Africa.
Over the 36-month project, the Center's leadership will help guide the development of low-resource, multilingual AI models addressing agriculture, healthcare, education, and urban planning needs across North and Sub-Saharan Africa — reinforcing the Center's role as a bridge between research, innovation, and real-world regional impact.

GEN AI for Education Hackathon 2026
The GenAI for Education Hackathon 2026 is a flagship innovation initiative organized by the EUI Innovation Center (EIC) at Egypt University of Informatics (EUI), in partnership with the GAINAfrica Horizon Europe Project and proposed under the patronage of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
Designed as a national open innovation program, the hackathon brings together university students, researchers, entrepreneurs, educators, and Egyptian EdTech startups to develop innovative Generative AI solutions that address real challenges in education across Egypt and Africa. The initiative aligns with Egypt's National AI Strategy 2025–2030 while supporting the objectives of GAINAfrica (Generative Artificial Intelligence for Africa), a Horizon Europe project focused on applying Generative AI to societal challenges, including digital skills and learning.
