English Language Instructor
Job Purpose:
English language instructors at the Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) are responsible for designing, developing, and delivering innovative teaching materials in line with EUI’s specialized module specifications. Instructors play a key role in facilitating engaging, student-centered classes that integrate modern technology and AI tools into offered ESP courses. English Instructors are required to administer English Language assessments. They are also expected to complete administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
1) Teaching and Learning
Prepare and adapt teaching materials that cater to students across EUI's different faculties.
Systematically embed Artificial Intelligence tools into instructional design to ensure students meet contemporary digital literacy standards.
Deliver classes as scheduled, ensuring classes are engaging, effective and student centered.
Fulfill all required administrative responsibilities such as e-learning uploads, etc.
Provide additional academic support when required.
Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with students and colleagues.
2) Assessment and Marking
Create formative and summative assessments that evaluate language proficiency.
Clearly communicate the nature and timing of assessments to students in a timely manner.
Administer Assessments, ensuring they are delivered securely.
Mark assessments and provide constructive feedback within agreed timeframes.
Uphold academic integrity policies and identifying cases of misconduct according to EUI regulations.
3) Quality Assurance & Curriculum Development
Participate in curriculum development to ensure learning outcomes remain aligned with rapidly changing global market demands.
Complete module evaluation reports and reflect on student feedback to proactively implement teaching improvements.
Engage in ongoing professional development, particularly regarding AI trends in higher education, and implement new educational technologies into teaching practice.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1) Educational Qualifications:
Essential: A bachelor’s degree in English Language, Applied Linguistics, or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Desirable: A master’s degree (completed or in progress) in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or any relevant field.
2) Experience:
Essential Experience: At least two years of full-time experience teaching EAP or ESP in a higher education institution, utilizing student-centered methodologies.
Language Proficiency: Advanced oral and written communication skills, equivalent to an IELTS band 8.
Desirable Experience: Experience teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP) to students in specialized disciplines.
3) Technical Knowledge and Skills:
Essential: High digital literacy, including proficiency with e-learning platforms, educational apps, and modern generative AI tools used in academic settings.
Desirable: Proven record in developing and teaching blended or fully online academic English courses.
