BI Students dive into SaaS innovation with Mr. Mohamed El-Sherif
The Faculty of Business Informatics hosted an engaging and insightful session titled “Inside a SaaS Company: How Product, Engineering, Data, Marketing & Operations Intersect to Build Scalable Digital Products,” delivered by Mr. Mohamed El Sherif, SaaS COO (MENA) and Founder of the Arab Media Intelligence Network (AMIN), as part of the Strategic Information Technology Management course.
During the session, Mr. El Sherif provided students with an in-depth look into the structure and operations of SaaS companies, explaining how cross-functional teams collaborate to build and scale digital products. Students worked in groups to develop and present innovative SaaS concepts, including a Pet Life Management System, a Student Portal Platform, a Healthy Cooking application, and a Public Transportation Tracker.
The workshop also featured practical exercises on problem definition, team structure, and role-playing real business scenarios, offering students valuable hands-on experience. Mr. El Sherif praised the students for their creativity and enthusiasm and extended his appreciation to Dr. Mohamed Saleh for cultivating a business-oriented and industry-driven learning environment. This session reflects the Faculty’s ongoing commitment to exposing students to real-world expertise and equipping them with the skills needed to excel as future leaders in the digital economy.
