Industry Meets Academia: DevOps Session with Dr. Hanan Moussa

As part of its ongoing commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world application, the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Hanan Moussa, Senior Delivery Manager at DXC Technology, to deliver a specialized lecture within the Software Design and Development course.

Dr. Moussa presented a session titled "Introduction to Configuration Management and DevOps," offering students an in-depth look into two of the most critical disciplines in modern software engineering. Drawing from her extensive experience leading enterprise-scale IT projects, she guided students through the foundations of configuration management, the principles and tools that support DevOps practices, and how these methodologies contribute to the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of software systems.

Students engaged actively during the session, asking questions about continuous integration, automated testing, and the role of cloud computing in DevOps pipelines. Dr. Moussa also shared career advice and highlighted the importance of continuous learning and adaptability in a rapidly changing tech environment.
