EUI welcomes the Minister of Technology and Science of Zambia to discuss capacity-building and academic cooperation in the sciences of the future
Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) welcomed H.E. Felix Mutati, Minister of Technology and Science of the Republic of Zambia, at EUI's campus in the Knowledge City at the New Administrative Capital. An introduction to the university’s advanced academic programs was presented to HE the Zambian Minister as well as the state-of-the-art facilities, at the level existing in top international universities. The two parties discussed ways of capacity building and academic cooperation, and EUI presented Egypt's leading experience in the cooperation with the ICT sector.
Prof. Reem Bahgat, President of Egypt University of Informatics, together with the members of the University Council welcomed H.E. Félix Mutati, Minister of Technology and Science of Zambia, and his delegation. EUI's top management representatives accompanied the university's president, including Prof. Mohamed El-Sharkawi, EUI's Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Amr EL-Masry, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Hoda Mokhtar, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences, Prof. Samaa Taher, Dean of the Faculty of Business Informatics, and Prof. Ashraf Zaki, Dean of the Faculty of Digital Arts and Design.
Prof. Reem Bahgat emphasized the depth of the distinctive relations between Egypt and Zambia and expressed the willingness of EUI and faculty members to cooperate with scientific institutions in Zambia.
For his part, Mr. Felix Mutati, Minister of Technology and Science of the Republic of Zambia, expressed his pleasure in visiting EUI. He wished to strengthen cooperation with EUI by facilitating the procedures for the enrolment of top achievers from his country, providing them with some scholarships, and sharing the academic expertise of EUI with its counterparts from universities in Zambia, especially in advanced specializations in fields of Communications and Information Technology, affected and influenced by the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Mr. Félix Mutati was quite interested to learn more about the university's efforts to equip students with the science of the future through the scientific and academic programs they receive on campus throughout their academic years of study.
Following the meeting, Mr. Félix Mutati and the Zambian delegation toured the university's campus to look at its facilities, accompanied by Prof. Reem Bahgat and Prof. Mohamed El-Sharkawi.
