EUI participates in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP 27
Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) announced the participation of a delegation of faculty members, headed by Prof. Reem Bahgat, the university's president, at the 27th UN Climate Summit "Cop 27" hosted by Egypt from November 6 to November 18 in Sharm el-Sheikh, with the participation of world leaders in the fight against climate change.
Prof. Reem Bahgat commended the efforts of the Egyptian State to activate the global movement to combat climate change and find effective technological solutions to counter its impacts and reduce its effects by intensifying efforts and joint action, to address this problem that threatens everyone from Egypt's hosting of COP 27, under the auspices of his excellency, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
Dr. Amani Eissa, Head of Business Development at EUI, explained that addressing climate change is one of the concerns of Egypt University of Informatics. The university held Climathon2022 over more than a month, under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research,
n collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), to serve as a platform for emerging effective solutions to this crisis and addressing it by harnessing technology science to stop its outcomes.
Dr. Amani Eissa said: "Egypt University of Informatics urges its students to assume their responsibilities towards climate and environmental conservation, to protect their future along with joint action to diminish the effects of climate change and achieve sustainable development goals while employing technology in solutions, because of its great ability to meet many
challenges facing humanity in particular and life in general. That would not be complete without addressing scientific research for its relevance, realism, and guidance to the fight against climate change."
