About the role:
The Information Network and Security Section Head is responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure and reliable IT network and security infrastructures across the campus. The role involves monitoring and managing both network performance and security efficiency, troubleshooting issues, and applying best practices to protect systems and data against unauthorized access, modification, or loss.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of network infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPNs, switches, routers, and access points).
- Assist in configuring and managing Cisco-based networks, including routing, switching, and wireless controllers.
- Implement, monitor, and maintain network and endpoint security controls in line with university security policies.
- Deploy and support Cisco ISE, including access control, identity management, and endpoint compliance.
- Configure and maintain firewalls (Forcepoint, Cisco Firepower) and Web Application Firewalls (WAF).
- Conduct basic vulnerability assessments and assist in applying remediation actions.
- Participate in network monitoring to detect performance bottlenecks or security incidents.
- Respond to and document network or security incidents under supervision.
- Assist in maintaining authentication systems, user access roles, and permissions.
- Collaborate with system administrators and IT staff to ensure reliable and secure operations.
- Maintain updated documentation of network topology, security configurations, and asset inventory.
- Stay updated with emerging security threats and recommend basic preventive measures.
- Maintain internet connectivity and reliability.
- Manage Voice and IP telephony systems, including administering the call manager and call center.
- Administer and maintain mobile phone lines, and liaise with service providers as well as data line vendors.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 4 to 7 years of experience.
- CCNA or CCNP (R&S or Security) certification preferred.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and VPNs).
- Familiarity with Cisco networking devices and network security tools.
- Basic experience in firewall management and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Solid knowledge of administering and maintaining ISE, Forcepoint, Firepower, DNA, ACI, core switches, and WLC wireless controllers.
- Ability to manage Stealth watch, Voice, Call Center, and IP Telephony systems.
- Knowledge of AV systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- ITIL Foundation knowledge is a plus.
- Proficiency in English.
