Senior AV Engineer
About the role:
EUI is seeking to hire a Senior AV Engineer on a full-time basis for the IT department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of audiovisual systems, ensuring seamless technical support for classrooms, auditoriums, meeting spaces, and special events. The role requires a hands-on professional who can configure, test, and troubleshoot AV equipment and software while coordinating with IT teams to ensure integrated and reliable service delivery across the campus.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate, monitor, and maintain audiovisual systems, including projectors, displays, sound systems, video conferencing, and control systems (Crestron, Extron, etc.).
Provide technical support for lectures, conferences, and live events, ensuring high-quality audio and video performance.
Set up and test AV systems before scheduled events and respond promptly to technical issues during sessions.
Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of AV infrastructure in classrooms, auditoriums, and meeting rooms.
Assist in system upgrades, firmware updates, and preventative maintenance for AV equipment.
Collaborate with IT and networking teams to ensure AV devices are properly connected to the network and integrated with enterprise systems (e.g., Teams, Zoom).
Maintain inventory of AV hardware and software, track licenses, and assist in procurement planning.
Document configurations, incidents, and maintenance logs for AV assets and solutions.
Provide user training and guidance to faculty and staff on proper AV system use.
Support remote or hybrid learning technologies and assist in troubleshooting conferencing platforms.
Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers or vendors when necessary.
Contribute to annual budget planning for AV equipment (CAPEX/OPEX) and recommend improvements to enhance service quality.
Participate in on-call rotations to support urgent AV or system-related incidents.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (computer-related or engineering).
At least 3-4 years of experience.
Strong knowledge of audiovisual systems, including projectors, sound mixers, microphones, amplifiers, digital signage, and video conferencing tools.
Familiarity with Crestron, Extron, AMX, or similar control systems.
Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, VLANs, PoE, cabling standards).
Knowledge of Windows and macOS environments and common productivity tools (Microsoft 365).
ITIL-oriented or certified preferred.
Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and during live events.
Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal skills.
Fluent in English (spoken and written).
