EUI Signs Groundbreaking Agreements with CESI & ISART

In a major step towards strengthening its international presence, Prof. Reem Bahgat, President of Egypt University for Informatics, announced the signing of two groundbreaking cooperation agreements with two renowned French universities: “CESI,” ranked 54th globally, and “ISART Digital,” the world’s second-best video game school in the world. These new partnerships further solidify EUI’s global network and open up exciting opportunities for EUIans to earn prestigious dual degrees.

Prof. Bahgat emphasized that these agreements are part of the university's ongoing efforts to build an international network of collaborations, offering students the chance to earn dual degrees—one from Egypt University for Informatics and another from CESI University in France—joining the ranks of prominent American and Canadian universities.

She further explained that the significance of these agreements lies in their focus on key fields such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, engineering, computer science, information technology, innovation, and the development and design of video games. These fields are at the forefront of global economic transformation and are crucial for emerging economies to bridge the technological gap with leading global economies.

The agreement with CESI allows students to study for four years in Egypt, earning a bachelor's degree, followed by one additional year of study in France to obtain a master’s degree. This program will prepare students to work in any company across the European Union, as well as in Egypt or abroad.

The partnership with CESI also includes joint efforts in education, scientific research, and community service activities. It paves the way for future agreements to collaborate on the development of double degree programs, conducting joint research projects, publishing academic papers together, offering joint supervision on theses, exchanging students and faculty for teaching and research purposes, and sharing best practices in teaching methods and corporate ties. Additionally, both universities will collaborate in the development of new technologies in both countries.

Regarding the cooperation with ISART Digital, Prof. Bahgat outlined that it will focus on training in video game development, 3D animation, game data, artificial intelligence, the social impact of digital games, innovation, and technology. The partnership will also involve student and faculty exchanges for educational and research purposes, along with sharing best practices in teaching and developing new technologies. Dr. Amal El-Gamal, head of the software engineering department at the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences and Informatics and head of international relations at Egypt University for Informatics, will coordinate the execution of both agreements on the Egyptian side.

Prof. Bahgat highlighted that these agreements represent the culmination of years of collaboration with numerous French universities and institutions. Currently, there is active cooperation in various scientific research projects, with French universities being among the world’s leading centers for academic and research excellence. Thus, partnerships with such institutions offer significant opportunities for Egyptian universities.

It is worth noting that the two agreements were signed by Prof. Ahmed Hamad, EUI’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, during the current visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Cairo, which witnessed the signing of a series of agreements to enhance cooperation between France and Egypt across various fields.
