EUI welcomes a delegation from Fulbright to discuss funding scholarships in Egypt and USA

In order to explore ways of working together on training and research for academic staff members and other support functions across all disciplines, as well as fully funded scholarships for graduates to study in the United States, Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) hosted a delegation from Fulbright Egypt, a scientific and cultural exchange program of the United States of America.

Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of Fulbright Egypt, and her delegation met with Prof. Reem Bahgat, President of Egypt University of Informatics, in the presence of Prof. Ahmed Hassan, Vice-President for Academic Affairs of EUI, Prof. Amr El-Masry, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Hoda Mokhtar, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences, Prof. Samaa Taher, Dean of the Faculty of Business Informatics, and Prof. Ashraf Zaki, Dean of the Faculty of Digital Arts and Design. 

Prof. Reem Bahgat, President of Egypt University of Informatics, praised Fulbright’s efforts in supporting the capabilities of distinguished Egyptian university graduates and providing them with opportunities to study abroad in various disciplines that ensure the continuity of community development efforts. She highlighted that Fulbright is among the most prestigious global scholarship programs.

Prof. Reem said: “Egypt University of Informatics provides its distinguished students and faculty with an inspiring learning experience that ensures tangible, practical results in all fields and disciplines, including Engineering, Computing and Information Sciences, Business Informatics, Digital Arts, and Design. We, therefore, take pride in our students and their achievements in bringing them to the forefront of the prestigious local and international entities that fund scholarships after graduation in the world’s most prestigious academic institutions. “

The President of Egypt University of Informatics added: “We are proud to offer the best world-class academic programs that allow our students to communicate with experienced academic figures and benefit from a stimulating and challenging learning environment. For her part, Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of the Fulbright Foundation in Egypt, was pleased with the university’s potential and its highly advanced scientific programs. The Fulbright Scholarship concerns educational and cultural exchanges between Egypt and the United States of America. It is one of the largest scholarship providers to Egyptian students. It offers about 45 opportunities to study for a Master’s degree and many scientific and professional programs. It is distinguished by the wealth of fields it offers to applicants. We are pleased to cooperate with EUI in this matter. “

Dr. Maggie continued: “The great and modern potential we have seen at EUI makes us keen to offer scholarships to students, faculty members, and support functions to study abroad, as well as to fund the hosting of the largest experts and faculty at the largest universities in the United States to share experiences between American universities and EUI.” Fulbright is keen to select Egyptian applicants who possess a vision to recruit the experience gained during the scholarship in their field of work within Egypt after their return, as well as their proposals for community service and their leadership skills, which are crucial criteria for selecting winners, to make the most of them.

With regards to faculty programs, Dr. Maggie said: “There are scholarships for postdoctoral research in all fields, and professional development scholarships for faculty members of Egyptian universities and higher institutes, visiting professors’ program, as well as research and collection programs for doctoral students, a Joint Doctoral Supervision Program and a program to conduct research and collect scientific material for doctoral students at Egyptian universities.

Egypt University of Informatics is one of the first specialized universities in the Middle East and Africa in Communications, Information Technology, and their affected areas. It was founded by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to become a leading academic institution offering specialized educational programs to meet the need of the labor market with highly experienced ICT professionals.

Egypt University of Informatics has four faculties (Computing and Information Sciences, Engineering, Business Informatics, Digital Arts and Design). It offers 16 specialized educational programs to meet the labor market’s needs from specialists in the latest fields of ICT, such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Animation Arts, User Experience, and Game Design.
