Teaching Assistants/Assistant Lecturers -Engineering
The Faculty of Engineering invites applications for full-time positions as Teaching Assistants or Assistant Lecturers, starting in the Spring Semester of 2025. The faculty seeks candidates eager to engage in an interactive and collaborative teaching environment. Selected applicants will be responsible for discussing various ideas, applications, and problems with students and explaining the concepts covered in lectures. Additionally, they will supervise and grade student projects and assignments in labs and tutorials.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct tutorials and labs as instructed.
- Employ innovative teaching approaches and support students through diverse learning resources and teaching practices.
- Interact with students during office hours in person and online, using discussion groups and other tools on the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Teach practical and theoretical courses in class and online.
- Grade assignments, quizzes, lab exams, and midterm exams as required.
- Participate in academic and exam support duties, including proctoring.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the administration.
- Submit an annual progress report detailing achievements for evaluation.
Enrollment in a Master’s program (for Teaching Assistants) or a Doctoral program (for Assistant Lecturers) is advantageous.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Communication, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering.
- Teaching Assistants must have graduated in 2018 or later.
- Assistant Lecturers must have graduated in 2015 or later and must hold a Master’s degree in a related field.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is essential.
- Practical and teaching experience (industrial experience is an asset).
- Enthusiasm for research and graduate studies.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Effective time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
