EUI Celebrates Its First Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2025

Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) celebrated the Graduation of Its First Cohort from the Faculties of Computing and Information Sciences, Business Informatics, and Digital Arts and Design. in the esteemed presence of the Former President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and Founding Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Egypt University of Informatics (EUI), H.E. Counselor Adly Mansour and H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology.
The ceremony took place at EUI’s campus in Knowledge City, located in the New Administrative Capital, with the presence of Eng. Raafat Hindi, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Infrastructure Development and Digital Transformation, and Vice Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees; Eng. Ghada Labib, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Institutional Development; Prof. Ahmed Hamad, Acting President of EUI; Prof. Maher Mesbah, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Private and National Universities; along with senior officials from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, members of the University’s Board of Trustees, faculty members, graduates, and their families.
In his address, Counselor Adly Mansour emphasized that EUI represents a scientific edifice born out of an ambitious vision and a genuine belief in the importance of this kind of distinguished education. He congratulated the graduates of the first class on their remarkable achievement, wishing them success as they transition from classrooms to workplaces equipped with the knowledge and expertise acquired during their specialized studies.
He extended his sincere gratitude to the faculty members of EUI for their dedication and commitment in transferring knowledge and guiding students, affirming that they are the builders of minds and makers of future generations. He highlighted the distinguished partnerships EUI has established with leading global universities, which have provided students with exceptional opportunities to gain skills and competencies that enable them to face international challenges with confidence and efficiency. He also expressed appreciation to the organizations and companies that offered scholarships, believing in the capabilities of EUI students and investing in their innovative minds to pursue education at the highest levels.
His Excellency also thanked the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the visionary founder of EUI, and Dr. Amr Talaat, noting that the ministry continues to provide the resources and support needed to sustain the university’s academic journey, given the ICT sector’s role as one of the main engines of economic growth and a vital source of national income.
In conclusion, he addressed the graduates, saying: “You are not only the sons and daughters of this nation, but its true wealth and the leaders of tomorrow, who will guide Egypt toward greater horizons of innovation and progress.”
For his part, H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, underlined that the vision behind founding EUI was to establish a world-class university specialized in ICT to prepare a promising generation that contributes to building Digital Egypt and positions itself at the heart of the global information revolution, strengthening its competitiveness in the local and international job markets. He pointed to the university’s partnerships with prestigious international institutions to provide joint and dual-degree programs in ICT-related disciplines.
He added that EUI graduates now join more than 350,000 ICT professionals in Egypt, a pioneering force in the Middle East and Africa that reinforces Egypt’s status as a regional hub for investment, employment, and digital services delivery to over 180 global companies. He expressed gratitude to ICT sector professionals and EUI faculty members for their efforts in establishing and supporting the university and enabling the graduation of its first class.
Dr. Talaat also expressed his deep appreciation to Counselor Adly Mansour for his belief in the university’s mission since its inception and his support as Founding Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He further paid tribute to the late Prof. Dr. Reem Bahgat, Founding President of EUI, noting that the 2025 graduating class was named in her honor. He affirmed that this unique distinction carries with it a special responsibility for the graduates to be role models, turning knowledge into action, dreams into reality, and ambitions into driving force.
Prof. Maher Mesbah, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Private and National Universities, stressed that EUI was established as a non-profit national university to build a knowledge-based society specialized in ICT. He explained that this specialization is central to national progress, with the university offering interdisciplinary programs aligned with the evolving needs of the job market. The graduation of its first cohort, he noted, represents the culmination of years of dedicated work and the embodiment of a vision transformed into reality—serving as a cornerstone for Egypt’s development.
He added that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is committed to advancing the national education system and driving the knowledge-based economy, highlighting that non-profit universities are one of the ministry’s main strategic pillars. He urged the graduates to embrace lifelong learning and continuous skill development to keep pace with the demands of modern life.
Prof. Ahmed Hamad, Acting President of EUI, stated, “Training a new generation of specialists in applied sciences, especially in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and other fields of the future, is a core mission entrusted to EUI. Today, as we celebrate our first graduating class, we rely on them to enhance Egypt’s capabilities in the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, confident in Egypt’s ability to participate constructively as an innovator rather than merely a consumer of global technologies.”
He noted that the graduation projects, many of which applied AI technologies developed by EUI’s first graduates, reflect their high-level achievements and readiness to transform Egypt into a global hub for business informatics and ICT technologies.
He further emphasized that EUI has worked to create an educational ecosystem that combines the latest global curricula delivered through partnerships and dual-degree agreements with top international universities, alongside practical training provided by leading ICT companies—ensuring that graduates are fully equipped to work in global companies from the very first day of their careers.
Notably, some graduates of the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences received dual degrees with the University of Minnesota Twin Cities (UMN), ranked 36th in Computer Science by US News 2024, after completing their final academic year on UMN’s campus as part of the two universities’ partnership.
On this occasion, Prof. Mohamed Mokbel, Director of the Graduate Studies Program at UMN’s Department of Computer Science, expressed his delight in joining EUI’s graduation ceremony, celebrating students from the dual-degree program. He praised their academic excellence and commitment, noting that their success demonstrates the true value of international collaboration in higher education and that they are now fully prepared to contribute effectively at local, regional, and global levels. “We are proud to have been part of their journey, and their dedication and passion for knowledge made them exceptional representatives of EUI at UMN,” he said.
During the ceremony, attendees observed a moment of silence in memory of the late Prof. Reem Bahgat, EUI’s Founding President. Counselor Adly Mansour and Dr. Amr Talaat presented a recognition shield to her mother, honoring her pioneering role.
They also honored Dr. Amani Eissa, Director of EUI’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center. Prof. Mohamed El Sharkawy, Professor of Data Science and Engineering and former Vice President of EUI, and Dr. Amal Elgammal, Head of the Software Engineering Department and Head of International Relations,
The ceremony also honored the top-ranking graduates from the Faculties of Computing and Information Sciences, Business Informatics, and Digital Arts and Design.
