Lab Engineer
The Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences is committed to delivering high-quality education while advancing knowledge, research, and innovation in the field of computer science. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lab Engineer to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the daily operations of computer science laboratories, ensuring that all equipment and software function effectively.
Assist faculty and students in preparing laboratory experiments, projects, and practical sessions.
Collaborate with the IT Department to maintain up-to-date and efficient lab environments.
Implement and enforce safety protocols for laboratory use.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to students and staff.
Maintain and update the faculty’s inventory and lab requirements, coordinating with vendors for procurement and maintenance.
Stay informed about the latest advancements in computer science and integrate emerging technologies into the laboratory setting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Previous experience in a laboratory or technical support role.
Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in organizing and preparing labs, including setting up equipment and ensuring resources are available.
