EUI Hosts Delegations from CESI and ISART Digital

EUI welcomed two delegations from the French universities CESI and ISART Digital to discuss strengthening partnerships and activating the memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed between both sides. This comes as part of EUI’s strategic plan to expand its network of agreements with top international universities, ensuring that its academic programs align with those implemented at leading global institutions and equipping its graduates to work in European, American, Japanese, and other major international markets.
Prof. Ahmed Hamad, Acting President of Egypt University of Informatics, stated that the first delegation, representing CESI University, visited EUI on October 14 and included Ms. Lauriane Guietot, Director of International Relations, and Ms. Rima Hlais, Assistant Professor. He explained that the discussions focused on mechanisms to activate the terms of the MoU signed last April on the sidelines of the historic visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Cairo. The MoU includes cooperation in dual degree programs at the bachelor’s and master’s levels in computer and electrical engineering for students of the Faculty of Engineering, as well as in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity for students of the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences. The French delegation and EUI officials also met with students to explain how they could benefit from this partnership, which enables them to complete part of their studies in France.
He added that, through its four faculties, EUI is keen on enhancing the academic and professional level of its students and honing their skills by providing various opportunities to learn from and engage with top universities worldwide. This objective lies at the core of EUI’s international cooperation network, which has been developed over the past few years. These collaborations enable students to complete part of their studies abroad, obtain joint master’s degrees, participate in faculty exchange programs, and conduct joint research projects. The latter has seen notable success over the past year, with several EUI faculty members participating in joint research with French scholars, resulting in publications in leading scientific journals.
The second delegation, representing ISART Digital University, included Mr. Azad Lousparonian, Director of Development, and Mr. David Belemjian, Director of the Video Games Department. The delegation visited EUI on October 16 to explore expanding the existing MoU to create new opportunities for EUI students and graduates, helping them meet the needs of the Egyptian, European, and American job markets. ISART Digital is recognized as the second-best university in the world specializing in video game studies.
The MoU with ISART Digital, signed last April, applies to all four faculties of EUI. The two sides agreed to begin implementation with the Faculty of Business Technology, allowing interested students to obtain a dual master’s degree—earning their bachelor’s degree from EUI and then studying for one year at ISART Digital in France to obtain a master’s degree in Business and Management in Gaming.
The discussions also covered collaboration between ISART Digital and the Faculty of Digital Arts and Design in training, capacity building, research and development, and student and faculty exchange. Additionally, cooperation with the Faculties of Computing and Information Sciences and Engineering will focus on game programming, game algorithms, and applications of artificial intelligence in electronic gaming.
Attending the meetings from EUI were Prof. Hoda Mokhtar, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences; Prof. Ashraf Mahran, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Ashraf Zaki, Dean of the Faculty of Digital Arts and Design; Prof. Mohamed Saleh, Dean of the Faculty of Business Informatics; and Dr. Amal El-Gammal, Head of International Relations, alongside several program heads from the university.
