The PR & Events Manager is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive public relations and events strategies that enhance the university's reputation, promote its academic programs, and engage with key stakeholders. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional communication and organizational skills to lead the university's public image and event management efforts.
Job Description
- Public Relations:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive PR strategy aligned with the university's mission and goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
- Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communications materials.
- Manage media inquiries and crisis communications.
- Monitor media coverage and analyze public opinion.
- Develop and manage the university's social media presence.
- Events Management:
- Plan, organize, and execute a variety of university events, including conferences, seminars, workshops, and campus events.
- Develop event budgets and timelines.
- Secure event venues, vendors, and speakers.
- Manage event logistics, including registration, catering, and audiovisual equipment.
- Oversee event promotion and marketing efforts.
- Evaluate event success and provide post-event reports.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, donors, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the university at community events and functions.
- Team Management:
- Manage and develop a team of PR and events professionals.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities.
- Provide training and mentorship.
- Evaluate team performance and provide feedback.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in public relations and events management.
- Strong understanding of the higher education landscape.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and digital marketing.
- Experience with crisis communication.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
