Biography


Prof. Mohamed Saleh is a former Vice-Dean and a former Head of “Operations Research and Decision Support” Department at the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, Cairo University. He has more than 20 years of teaching, research, industry, and consulting experience. He won twice IBM Faculty awards. Mohamed was also an adjunct Professor at the University of Bergen, Norway. Furthermore, he served in various leadership positions at the Information and Decision Support Center of the Egyptian Cabinet. Notably, he served as an Executive Manager of the Information Technology Institute, Director of the Economic Analysis Sector, and the Director of the Center for Futures Studies.

Industrial Experience


 

  • Developed various computer models to simulate real-world problems and create what-if scenarios.
  • Developed various optimization models to improve business operations.
  • Applied various futures research methodologies to identify long-term possible, probable, and preferred futures.
  • Applied a range of AI analytics to help organizations make better decisions.
  • Consultant and senior advisor for the Information and Decision Support Center. The Egyptian Cabinet.
  • Consultant and senior Advisor for the Millennium Institute. Washington DC. USA.
  • Member of the technical committee of the North African Applied Systems Analysis Centre (NAASAC), which is affiliated with the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Vienna, Austria.
  • Worked for three years as a modeling expert at the UN.
  • Worked for seven years as a modeling expert in the Center for Data Mining & Computer Modeling, at Cairo University.
  • Conducted several training courses and workshops for top management in several Arab countries, the National Defense Academy in Egypt, and the Information and Decision Support Center of the Egyptian Cabinet.
