Biography


Fatma Hamdy was born in Cairo in November, she is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Digital
Arts and Design - Egypt University of Informatics, from September 2021. she was a Programme
Director, Teaching, Learning Coordinator, eLearning Coordinator, and Assistant Professor at
the Faculty of Arts and Design, The British University in Egypt (BUE) from 26 December 2019 till
31 August 2021. Assistant Professor and Director of Quality Assurance in Film and Media
Studies, Faculty of Communication and Mass Media, The British University in Egypt (BUE) from
15 December 2014 till 25 December 2019. Web Design Consultant, The British University in
Egypt (BUE) from 08 August 2017 till 28 February 2021.Member of the Syndicate of Fine Arts in
the Supreme Council of Culture since 2001.


She started her career as a visual artist in many disciplines such as photography, conceptual art,
multimedia, film directing, digital editing, and digital designs. she participated in and organized
many exhibitions that support raising community and social awareness by artworks under the
title “Faces from Egypt” Participated individually or with groups in many Local and International
exhibitions and workshops in Egypt and Tunisia. The Last Exhibitions, Women in the Mirror
2021 in Egypt, Peace, and War, conceptual exhibition, 2019 in Egypt, Sfax International Festival
in Tunisia, 2018, 5th South Salon Luxor 2018, where it won the Picasso Prize for Arts, Cultures in
Africa in 2017, Egypt, and 3rd South Salon March 2017, Luxor, Egypt. Ph.D. Degree from the
Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt in 2014.

Academic achievements


UNIVERSITY & COMMUNITY SERVICES ACTIVITIES:

FACES FROM EGYPT PROJECT 2014 -2021 Regarding my experience as a Module Leader in Photography, Multimedia and Academic Activities advisor, I have organized a big project for social awareness with my student titled (Faces from Egypt) that includes many goals such as organizing many photography exhibitions for capturing best shots from Egypt.

We have organized seven Photography exhibitions during my work at the Faculty of Communication and Mass Media (BUE) from 2014 to 2019 as follows: 1st (Faces from Fayoum) that was sponsored by Canon, 2nd (Best Shot at BUE) 3rd (Egyptian Industry) 4th (City Identity) 5th (Egyptian Woman) 6th (Peach and War), 7th (Order and Chaos) during the period. 8th revival (Covid 19) for the Faculty of Arts and Design (BUE) in 2021.

Objectives, Achieving the following major points:

BUSINESS & ACADEMIC MISSION TO VISIT UK UNIVERSITIES FOR ARTS AND DESIGN VALIDATION. FROM SEPTEMBER 22-28, 2019.

VISITING THE FOLLOWING FIVE UK UNIVERSITIES IN LONDON AND NEARBY TO EXPLORE THE POSSIBILITY OF VALIDATION FOR ARTS AND DESIGN PROGRAMMES: -

BUSINESS & ACADEMIC MISSION TO VISIT UK UNIVERSITIES FOR COMMUNICATION AND MASS MEDIA FOR UPDATING PROGRAMMES AND FACILITIES. FROM JULY 21-24, 2015. VISITING THE FOLLOWING BRITISH UNIVERSITIES AND BRITISH MEDIA INSTITUTIONS TO UPDATE FACILITIES, INCLUDING LABORATORIES, STUDIOS, AND TYPES OF EQUIPMENT.

British universities and British media institutions were visited with Prof. Muhammad Shouman (Dean), Dr. Adel Saleh (Vice Dean of teaching and learning). for updating facilities, including laboratories, studios, and types of equipment.

BUSINESS & ACADEMIC MISSION TO UK PARTNER (LSBU) & FRENCH PRIVATE UNIVERSITY (EDH) FOR EXCHANGE STUDENTS AND SUMMER INTERNSHIPS.

FROM MARCH 09-12, 2019 IN LONDON. FROM MARCH 13-16, 2019 IN PARIS. - UK Partner and French Private university were visited with Dr. Adel Saleh (Vice Dean of teaching and learning). for exchange students, validate master program in Digital Media and summer internships.

ACADEMIC AWARENESS ACTIVITIES IN POOR VILLAGES.

Participated in the development (awareness) convoys, where several awareness activities and development convoys were organized to donate clothes in poor villages, besides painting and photographic workshops were conducted for children and poor villages such as Fayoum in partnership with the Faculty of Communication and Mass Media at the British University in Egypt and the Farid Khamis Foundation, with the help of a team of students, technicians, and faculty teaching staff. From 2014 to 2018. It was covered in the media.
